Is this coming to the 360?? I have read so many times that it was going to be PC only, but on this months xbox world 360 demo disk there is a crysis tech demo, just played it and it looks absolutely amazing, if its not coming to 360 then why is it on a 360 demo dvd?

Tech demo as in you could actually play it or was it just something to watch? The CEO of Crysis has said there were no plans to put it on the Xbox 360. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did eventually...

They'll probably release it 12months later or something like that, as it's not currently pinned as going to be 360. If they do, it would be good, as it does look a fantastic game.

It was just a tech demo, puzzling why its on an xbox 360 demo disc  ive done a bit of searching (crysis 360) and it threw up a few sites that have crysis listed as an upcoming 360 title. TBH i dont know whether the 360 would be capable of graphics like that, on the tech demo there was a section inside a boat/factory or something with meta steps and the shadows and lighting cast around the room were absolutely amazing, it honestly looked real

But surely it would? Remember an average PC gamer would have 1 CPU, 512Mb RAM and something like a Radeon X800. You might not get all the eye candy like soft shadows and HDR but you'll certainly get a similar "feel" and the same interactions with the objects in the world.

I reckon the 360 will still be capable of the same level of PC graphics in 3-4 years time.

I have no doubt the 360 could run it, but it would need to be heavily optimised to run well on the 360, hence why I think they'll release it 12+months time as a straight port wont be any good in my opinion. Crysis will need one hell of a beast of a PC to run it well, as did FarCry when that came out. You'll always get the overall better image quality from the PC version as you'll be able to run it at high resolutions etc, so the 360 version may have subtle tonings down, if any. We'll have to wait and see I guess though.

if you were in my position (upgraded pc spec next jan to be a gaming machine and also have a 360) would you get it on PC or 360?

Actually I'd get it on PC, for keyboard and mouse usage.

If you are going to upgrade your PC to Vista and DX10, then I would get the PC version.

After many years of PC gaming, I'm rapidly becoming a 360 fanboy. I don't see the need to buy high-powered computers any more - I'll just buy a cheapo laptop and use the 360 for gaming. If there are any must-have PC games then I'll wait a few years until the laptop GPUs are capable and play them then.

They'll release it like Half Life 2 was released on Xbox, still looking nice, just without the bells and whistles.
Except this time it will have a better resolution :).
