Am i the only one having this problem? runs fine at high detail with no AA but try to add any AA at all and its like playing F.E.A.R in slowmo mode :(

System is quad core with 8800GT graphics card

AA kills Crysis.

Instead turn edge_AA = 1 or 2 in the config, gives the edges of stuff a kind of AA but without the massive fps impact.

I think the edgeaa is similar to the GRAW PC in-built AA. Blurry...but somewhat more effective in Crysis. Still not comparable to proper AA.

For me, I can play the game fine at 1900*1200, but when I put AA on, the graphics go all to hell and I get white trees and builds etc, and just outlines of other things. Strangely as soon as I go into invisible mode, everything comes back.

Taff

I tried AA on 16xQ at 2560x1600 (I only did it to see the difference in graphics) and couldn't see much difference at all? Mybe cos it was running at -30fps in that res, but the aliasing was still jaggy?

Im gonna try that edge_AA=1, gonna see what that does!

Forcing AA in control panel does not work in the game, hence why you saw no difference. You would need to use the games own AA options.

Edit:
Just realised thats why you get people banging on about they run Crysis with XYZ AA and its smooth... cause it was not working in the first place, probably!

I run 2x AA and I do get slight graphic problems but there not too bad, I hoping that they will be fixed in the first patch that comes out

Na thats what i meant, I never used nvidia control panel, I mean the AA IN the game... made no difference from what I saw? But I didnt look very long cos the lag was so severe, so may it did make a diff?

I use 2xAA ingame and it works on some things like the turret on the Hummer but trees still look bad.

1280x1024, 2xAA, Very High/Medium details runs at ~20fps

AA doesn't work in Crysis... Force it on in the Nvidia/ATi control panel :)
It does work but it isn't very noticable because it doesn't work on trees/leaves which are abundant in a jungle.

The thing I noticed it most on is when you drive the Hummer in external view on the round turret mount.

I run Crysis at 1400 x 900 all high with AA on 16, its fine most of the time. However I have had some funky graphics bugs ( Like a bad night out ), not sure if this is attributed to AA or not.

ITs probably fine most of the time cause its not actually working..... the majority of people don't even use 2 x AA cause of *** performance hit, and you think you are successfully running 16 x AA?

You're running out of video memory, 512MB isn't enough for Crysis and AA unless you play in low resolutions.

This is why I'm hoping that D9E launches with a 1GB RAM variant.

Performance is not the issue, the game runs extremely smooth. No problem with smoke, trees , running fast...or killing multiple enemys. I was saying I get graphics bug's, and this maybe a general game bug I'm not sure.

I take we arn't talking about crysis then.

Crysis doesn't even run smoothly with no AA. With 16xAA it will be a complete slideshow regardless of the hardware used.
