GameSpy have just announced details on their involvement in the development of Crysis, including the technologies and features they'll be bringing into Crysis. Those technologies include...

Quote
GameSpy's "Comrade" in-game middle-ware and desktop technology that enables seamless in-game to out-of-game community features, such as instant messaging, friend rosters, advanced matchmaking capabilities.

GameSpy's "Sake" will allow Crytek to store data securely online, enabling gamers to build extensive player profiles and maintain game stats.

GameSpy's "ATLAS" allowing Crytek to easily create an advanced statistical system for competitions within the game and on the Crysis Web site.
So it seems Crysis will have an online stats system of some sort. It won't be anything like the battlefield series, but I think that's generally a good thing.

It's also been announced that the Crysis beta will be made available on fileplanet. It's unknown if this means a paid subscription to fileplanet will be required, but for the sake of the community, I personally hope not. More details will be released on that soon.

I really hope that it isnt just fileplanet who gets the beta.

P.S Im not dead yet wooooooooo

No real surprise - one of the few portals that could deal with the demand...

Be cool if Steam was involved in beta distribution and feedback

to be fair, they have 4 months till release, so, guessing it wont be that long for the beta. question is, will it be the tech level played at i31 or a multiplayer map? interesting thought eh?

another question on my mind is whether there will be new drivers out for it, as there is supposably supposed to be drivers comeing out around the release that nv and crytek have been working on together (i dont know if thats fact, i just read it in these forums by other members, so probably speculation)

An EA game coming out on steam doesn't seem like a likely occurrence :D. Lets just pray they don't release it to everyone other than FP subscribers via EA Link... shudder.

Considering Far Cry and some of the negative comments on gameplay (well AI mainly) it would be great for them to release a SP map and a map from a mod to show how good/bad the AI is and how their support for 3rd party mods is going...

Perhaps thats more demo fare than beta, but they really need us to help them with the AI it seems...

aye lol, it wouldnt suprise me that they will get slaughtered on the ai issues. but like you say, something for them to take in and sort out after beta.

another thing we might have overlooked, is that the ai is brilliant.... we just dont realise because we havnt played it.
