Just loaded up Crysis on my new rig, patched it ect. Using latest ATI Drivers as well.

When changing graphical settings in advanced menu and after selecting apply the game just hangs and does not respond what so ever resulting in me ALT + 4ing out of the game?

Think its running in DX10 as well, should i update this?

All other games work excellent, Black ops Left 4 Dead 2 ect, Crysis obviously doesnt like something in my computer.

Crysis can only run in DX9 & DX10, i'm not sure what's going wrong tbh, tried earlier driver releases?

I have the latest graphics card drivers installed as mentioned in my post and the game is up to date as mentioned in my first post!

These no way il downgrade my drivers, every other game works spot on so i dont see why i should go out my way for this game. Just googling now, there is problems with crysis and Windows 7.

Guess i might just call this a day and wipe the thing of my computer i just dont need the hastle of this for an old game.

Tried running it in admin mode? I'm on Windows 7 as well.

You could also try running it in compatability mode, XP or Vista.

I'm playing it at the moment on Windows 7 64bit and have had a few crashes.

One was to do with the audio, my Xonar DG it didnt like the 8 channel sound output.

Crysis has been 100% fine with me on win 7. You are starting a new game correct?

What exe are you using to boot up? If you're booting up using 64bit, use crysis exe rather than crysis64.exe :)

Playing Crysis build 1.1.1.6156 on win 7 x64, works a treat, no problems, looks great plays great. 5970-CCC 11.1, latest directx etc.

Yeah looks like it. Doesnt help though makes you feel worse lol.

Anyway Ive sorted it. After googling ive found out not to install the 1.2.1 patch as this only works with 32bit Operating systems! So anyway, wiped and installed again with 1.2 only and it works great! Running this on quite high settings i could run it maxed but dont see the need to. Anyway it looks fantastic so thanks

Oh whats the command to see FPS on Crysis by the way?

Thanks

I have the solution :D:D:D I had the same problem a few days ago. this is how to get rid of your problem... ready?.. rightclick on your short ccut and click props?compatability> then check "Disable desktop composition" And it will work :D Its soemthing todo with Areo effecting crysis -_- try it and let me know how you get on good luck :)

I played the game from start to finish last week, on Win7 64bit and had no weird crashes. I did have disable desktop composition checked, as adamknox suggests, so maybe that's worth a try?

Mine was doing something similar. Turns out AVG was flagging the latest patch as a virus or something and wasn't allowing it to save any changes to disk. Had to put the Crysis save folder as an exception in AVG settings.
