Crysis Developers build a budget pc to play crysis on (bit-tech)

Perhaps some of you may be intrested in this, im sure it will be full of crysis hates in no time though.

I think they could have gone into a bit more detail, at least saying which psu to get. But it may help some people wanting to build a new pc for crysis. Note that its only for 1280x720 res.

I'd hardly call that budget, and even then, that systems going to struggle at anything over medium settings

based on xp, therefore DX9 only......

"not really capable of playing crysis properly".....

a good note though if you just want to have a go at the storyline

Not reallly a budget build is it though.

I managed to complete Crysis with everything on high 1280x1024 (DX9) getting an average of 25-50 fps.

Its anything but budget, the 8800GT is anything but a budget card all beit a cheap top of the table card, the CPU isnt exactly budget either. people who own a machine like that art worrying about weather they can play crysis on high there enjoying the many other new titles available at full settings with full eye candy.
I know this because im one of them

bit-tech is a very reptuable website who do some of the bset reviews as far as im conserned. They dont make the adverts they just get money for them and probably hardware in return.

As for it not being budget i know, its like crysis devs only talk bull loll

If your getting hardware for free, then budget takes on a whole different meaning...

A BMW M3 is a budget car if your day to day car is a Roles Royce!

$900 or £450 is budget though!

most people who would play games like crysis would be spending 4 times that on the highstreet! and maybe only twice that online.

A great deal really :S

think about how much most "gamers" spend on their computers! £250 for a new graphics card

suddenly £450 sounds utterly cheap!

Since when have we ever had direct dollar to pound conversions? It would be more like £600+.

A Core 2 Duo E6xxx CPU and 8800GT are not budget. A E21xx series and 8600 would be.

Crysis is a demanding game, that much even my Grandma knows - and she hasn't been keeping up on the gaming front either these last few years because of her arthritis/

I just specced up that rig as cheap as I could on OCUK and it came to £684 + delivery. That's mid-level, not budget.

Not including a monitor or any peripherals either! There's another £150+ easy.

I would say that less than £150 for mobo. cpu and 2gig ram is budget.

4GB RAM is overkill, I can do med/high on 2GB so you could probably knock £25 off that price.
