I installed Crysis (steam version yesterday), and whenever i try and accept any changes in the options menu, the game freezes. I can still move the cursor, but nothing else happens. I have to crtl+alt+del and end the crysis process. After this, i can load it up again normally, but it still freezes once i try changing something again.
The thing is, the change that i'm accepting is accepted. Eg. I'm making a new profile, so i type in the name, and click create profile. It freezes, so i close crysis, load it up again, and the profile has been created

Playing the game is fine though. No problems. (unless i try and change options).

And when i do come out of the game using crtl alt del, it says the program is not working correctly, close or debug.

I've googled it, and a few others have had the same problem but i couldn't find any solutions.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.
I've recently updated the graphics drivers.

Anything else i can try?

Thanks.

Been a while, but i thought i would update this just to say that after reading quite a few forums i found the problem and the solution, and so if anyone else has this problem they can also fix it.

AVG was flagging up the latest patch of crysis 1.2.1(? or something) as a malicious program and therefore didn't allow Crysis to write to the settings file *doh*
so to simply fix this, just go to resident shield and create an expection for the directory to the mygames/crysis folder. And voila, it worked!
