ok got the game and system spec in my sig.
got to say that with everything set to high it still plays very well.
with fraps i get around 22 fps going down somewhat when there is a bit of action on screen.
now i know some of you will say this is too low to play but considering it is a slow paced game it is more than acceptable.
It doesn't seem to lag or jerk around at all.
how's it play for anyone else?

Terrible, thanks for asking.

Running on:
Intel P4 3.0GHz with HT Technology
1GB RAM
Nvidia 7600GT 256mb

When i took that screenshot everything was on low, and screen res on 800x600. I couldnt see a thing, and movement was awful. Though I hadnt updated my Nvidia Drivers since I bought the 7600 last year, so they've been updated, and I've installed the Forceware 169.09 drivers released specifically released for Crysis on XP. So it runs now... just about D=

my problem is i'm incredibly fussy when it comes to FPS. Only until rather recently my most played game was TFC, and on my current setup that would have got prob around the 300fps mark if it wasn't for vsync. The result of this is that if i want to play crysis at anywhere near what i would consider a playable FPS i have to run it on medium/low at which point imo it actually looks worse than the other FPS' around at the moment.

7800GTX
Opteron 175

loads of spoilers in that thread and i haven't finished the game yet ;)

it runs fine for me, everything on high 2xAA. not checked the fps but it's easily playable. i actually find some of the cutscenes have terrible fps, out of sync speech, really stuttery etc - more so than the game. i have a Q6600 @ stock, 4gb crucial ballistix, 8800GTX 768, vista x64

Can't expect a lot else, Crysis is a very demanding game with even the latest hardware.

Mine runs pretty nicely though - on high settings 1280 with the below spec in my sig. Getting about 35-50FPS

I was getting 25 to 35fps with my 8800gtx clocked at 652/1000..till i got to the core level and then my fps dropped to 5fps:eek: with the same settings (everything on high apart from shaders & shadows which where med)

Just out of interest, at what res? I want to play in 1920x1200 'cos of the monitor I use and trying to put AA on pretty much kills the fps. FPS is bearable with it off and only shaders, shadows and on certain levels, post processing set to med. Rest on very high.

Wodering if dropping res to 1650 might reduce the load and enable me to turn up AA.

I agree the poor lip sync is unforgivable in a brand new, much anticipated game like this. My FPS slows down to min of 18 during busy fight scenes with settings on high which is also poor as i have quad core and an 8800GT

sorry forgot to say - 1680x1050 -the top res of my monitor. i'm too lazy to mess around with the settings and experiment tbh, even though the recommended specs were very high i changed them to high after playing the demo for a bit. one thing that really annoys me is that sometimes, for some reason the game defaults to being played in a window and i have to change the option. it was the same when i installed it, the default option was windowed. most strange.

I thought since the title was called 'gameplay' there'd be discussion on how the gameplay is... not how well the game plays on everyones computers :/

For someone's first post in the thread you have even less content re. the game than the rest here so quit while you are behind dude :D

Pretty similar spec to you myself, you tried the ati crysis hotfix for your drivers? They gave me an extra 1-2fps on average with some sections going up to 0ver 30fps!

ok, my thoughts so far:

- the ai is clever and stupid at the same time. i can shoot a guy in the face, cloak, and suddenly his mate can't see me even if i've not moved. yet they will flank my position and try and sneak up on me.
- helicopters are annoying
- there's a joke about korean manufacturing not being as good as the americans
- i'm playing it more like a sneak 'em up atm, i find myself cloaked more than anything
- the suit idea is quality, as is the fact i can chuck chickens around and shoot the petrol tanks on jeeps to make them explode
- i've not encountered any game breaking bugs so far

I would agree with everything nin9abadga said previously with the addition:

- the tank and plane sections were annoying, found myself getting out of the tank, clearing a path on foot then getting back in the tank was much more fun
- the 'aliens' part (don't want to give away too many spoilers) felt a bit strange after all the excellent sneaking around, hiding etc in the jungle environments
- the ending was pants, felt really on rails - do this now, do that now - just got really annoying and felt like i really didn't want to complete it really (though I did!)

But after these negative comments, I still loved it! Weapons felt good, it looked stunning, loved the suit idea and the first 2/3 of the game felt like you could approach objectives in a multitude of different ways, great stuff!

I was very dissapointed with it to be honest. Sneaking around, sniping and stealth killing baddies was loads of fun. But the spaceship bit was total crap, the flying alien things were really annoying, the VTOL mission was bum, there was'nt enough weapons and the end boss was as laughable as the ending.

Shame really because walking around the jungle like arnie in predator was soooo much fun, oh and COD4 owned its ass.
