I pasted this in Games section but im not sure if many people look on that.
So sorry in advanced for post.

Hi all,

I had 2 x 8800 ULTRAS,

now i have 1 HD 4870 X2...

Problems with both cards (so basically a fault in Crysis) is that on 1920 x 1080 on my HD screen, the resolution has a border around it, almost as if the resolution is 1600 x 900 (or something stupid like that).

It slows the game down even though the FPS counter states 35fps.

Has anyone come across this problem and a fix for it. It's honestly driving me crazy and i want to enjoy my game lol..

why would a border on your screen affect your fps.

Because it would be processing through 2D clocking.. which my gcard is at 500 mhz or something.. Whereas it needs to process in 3d.

Driveres for monitor.. you mean for the ATI card or something?

Basically.. any resolution apart from 1920 x 1200 and 1700 x 1100 (or whatever it is) works..

So i have to play on 1620 x 1000 to make it work. It just doesnt make sense.. And i have set the 1920 x 1080 resolution in Crysis and it just post boxes again.. ill send a screeny later.. maybe thatll help.

Ok so, my tv is in an HDMI port so yes 1:1 pixel mapping is fine.. ofcourse, every other game works.. so now im playing with the scaling settings..

I originallty had it on ENABLE GPU SCALING / Scale image to full panel size..

Im trying Maintain aspect ratio now.. wish my luck

Nah, i tired all scaling options and even ****** the whole computer with DTV propeties.. so im jumping on the banwagon and saying its crysis. Any more ideas fellas.. thanks being a great help so far.. coz i just havent a clue..!

Thanks for post..

-yes the TV is on 1:1 mapping as i have turned it on and i am using it to view desktop and all other games.

custom configurations in ATI control panel i shall have a look at. This could be an option.

-i used driver cleaner in the correct way mention within OCuk forums

-the resolution i have tried with 1920 x 1080 and in 1080p 60 aswell.

Thanks once again for the post.
