"The game is designed as a trilogy, so you have two more instalments to come and the ending [of Crysis] is planned deliberately," said Yerli, but was unable to offer any more information so not to spoil upcoming surprises.

I felt this was deserving of a full topic rather than just sticking it in the Crysis thread, as its going to add 2 more games to the series.

Given the fact the technology was designed to scale it isnt really that much of a suprise, I just wish the game we have at the minute had been abit longer, maybe having 2 games instead of 3.

Thoughts?

Might not be so popular if it ends on going back to kill aliens and leads on from there.

I know I didn't enjoy the spamfest that were the aliens and I'm sure many others didn't!

Just finished crysis there and i loved the game, so this is fine with me so long as we dont have to wait another 3 years for the 2nd one.

Nice. I got mine today, I played the first 2 levels. nice game so far. I am however a bit dissapointed with the buggy AI. the AI is fine, but sometimes it bugs and its like the koreans suffor from amnesia and forget you are shooting at them.

crysis 2 will be great graphically, even nicer graphics and by then we will have the hardware to run it.

bah, i for one didn't like the ending of crysis, i hate that unfinish feel to games, its why hl2 + ep's have been crap so far. you end up with too much identical gameplay and and overlong draw out over 3-4 years story which just sucks. as much as fitting a whole story into a days gameplay isn't perfect, finishing a story you started 3 years ago is way more unsatisfying. really not liking the trend of splitting up games over such a long period for no reason.

Yeh I agree. I far prefer stalking about taking down Koreans than spraying at aliens.

Considering we didnt see the promised "co-operation with the Koreans" in this instance of the game, im guessing it will be in the next 2, leaving the only enemies as... oh great, the aliens.

Am i the only one who actually thought the battles with the aliens were quite interesting (except final shielded oversized turkey)? They move in unique ways, are very animated and fluid in their movements, fast and with quite an aggressiveness.... it made a bit of a change from the usual doom/quake style "aliens run around on the floor" and it was definately a pleasant change from just killing the koreans that guard the island.

I guess with crysis being pretty future proofed it shouldn't take too long to bash out the sequels... i mean, they've made the engine, now all they need to do is level design and storyline (which i assume they already have a basic grasp of).

tell that to valve :p

Firstly, I haven't finished it yet so don't know how it ends but isn't it conveinient that a few days after the game is released and people are finishing it and aren't happy with the ending it suddenly turns out it was always going to be a trilogy.......

wouldn't be the first time :p

that aside its a great game so far

I didn't really like the aliens that much. The one thing I did like was that you can grab them and punch them in the noggin.
What would be good for crysis (2) is a mix of human enemies and alien enemies. Somehow having a few well spaced aliens (not sure what the story explanation for this would be) whilst still taking down humans. Just occasionally aliens would pop up and surprise you. Leading on to some big human / alien battle maybe.

Bit like every other game involving aliens really :p
