With a six core overclocked AMD processor, 8gb of ram, and an overclocked gtx460 why am i still having problems with crysis?

keeps crashing, frame rates are bad, and funny thing is, it scans my hardware and still selects the high setting for me despite people telling me this is usually a conservative estimate?

Something in my rig that isnt compatible with the game engine or something?

I know my rig is getting on a bit now in terms of new tech, but Metro 2033 imo looks far better than crysis and i would imagine is more demanding, and that runs fine on V High Dx11 so long as advanced depth of field is off :S

Crysis, however, is crashing on medium :/

Any ideas?

PS: Im running res on 1700x900 (cant remember exact figures, its the perfect res for my 32" LG tv to run with and used the same for Metro with no problems all the way through), tried no anti aliasing, low volumetric and still no better.

Chris.

You should be getting decent framerates on Crysis with very-high setting on your rig.

What parts of the game is it crashing exactly and are you using the retail or steam version

Maybe run your CPU/GPU at stock if you are overclocking?

As suggested, I'd try re-installing the game again and patch it to the latest verison and if that doesn't work, I'd try installing another driver for your gfx card.

How do i check the game is fully patched? Its the retail version btw? I click the link in the start menu for it and it doesnt say anything about patches?

Game doesnt crash while loading, just during gameplay.

Cutscenes Lag and screen sort of pulses if it makes sense with quick movement, like in metro 2033 if i had too many settings on lol.

Overclock is definately safe, CPU game done from OCUK, and same with GPU as it is the ZOTAC AMP edition.

Relatively new to pc gaming, can you tell? lol
