crysis on 5970

dos any one with a 5970 have this problem. some maps runs great and part of some maps there is lot of slow downs with some stuttering im useing 1.3 driver with 1.3 profile

Some maps and areas in a level are a lot more GFX intensive than others leading to slowdowns and jerky gameplay.

the part is doing it realy bad is where you blow up the petrol stations. to the left of the petrol stations where the beach is it drops to 25 then gos back to 50 it keeps doing that

Yea the game is badly optimized, so i would expect this kinda stuff from it.. i dont get any stuttering with my 5870 just some graphical lag.. which isn't really noticeable, due to the motion blur.

to the OP you'll probably find that the fps difference between running just the 5870 OR the 5970 won't be much. the game sucks are multi gpu configs (more so ati than nvidia i believe)

Very true and you would think that a game as demanding as Crysis would be highly optimised to take advantage of multiple video card setups.

i tryed playing it with just the 5870 and the lag and stutter gon
all do im geting less fps with one card the game play is much smother
this parts of the maps dont like crossfire or the driver for 5970 is poor for this game

i tryed vista 64bit and it was doing the same thing.also if it was runing out of memory becuse of 32bit os it will do it on all games.i can run bad company2 with avrey thing max out with no slow downs or stutter

Cranked Crysis up last night with my XFX-5970 BE, and get low frames in some maps, high frames in others. What i've noticed though, that with the low frame maps, even if i'm not in intense firefights, is that the FPS always remain about the same (25 say), even if i turn down the AA/Quality or even Res (1920x1200 i usually run at).

I thought it might be ram (i'm on 4 gig with windows 7 64 bit), or my cpu even ([email protected]), but I THINK that its the game itself that's quite badly optimized (esp for Crossfire)

I'd bet a tenner though that the Ferma 480 would do better at this game than a 5970, as it uses just one GPU - even if it is overall slower.....

I don't know if it still does but Crysis did initially run better on nvidia gpu's.

with the 5970 i was geting good fps but not very smoth in some maps very jurky and lagy but with the 5870 with same settings i was geting lower fps but smother game play.i think at this parts of the maps the gpus on the 5970 droping to 40% on both and on the 5870 the gpu is 100% at all times may be driver problem will im hoping so or i be ****ed off

Well, i checked CPU monitor and MSI Afterburner staright after these "taxing" maps, ands the GPU's were going about 60% a piece, wereas the CPU was Bareley breaking a sweat (50% per core perhaps on a QX9650). So it's got to be something with the game, as COD4/5 BBC2 fly like Shut of a Shivel (Crysis warhead version runs smoother mind.......)
