Crysis: Interview with crytek!!

http://www.google.com/translate?u=h...id=602373&page=1&langpair=de|en&hl=en&ie=UTF8

Sorry for the long link but its translated. Very nice article to read.

Also note that the developers for crsis run all the demos and developing on Core 2 Duo machines with 8800's. So judging by the demos crysis looks like it will run very smooth with an 8800 :)

EDIT: Also Sli is fully supported and the guy from crytek garuanteed a performance increase when using Sli :D

The last I heard from them they said the PS3 and Xbox360 just weren't powerful enough for the game and all the computational power it needed.

Probably just going to be a stripped down DX9 version for the consoles. Atleast it's made for PC and being ported to console as opposed to most games these days. :)

Some very nice looking shots in there, am I right in thinking Crysis is a sort of unofficial sequel to Far Cry made by the original dev team? If so I'm looking forward to it, played Far Cry through again last week and it still looked and played great. :)

Crytek anounced they were bringing games to console, but it would not be the Crysis we know. At least thats what I remember.

Crysis if anything is the game they wanted to make before Farcry. They originally built the engine for a game a lot similiar to Crysis (I believe there were going to be dinosaurs at one stage  ) but due to budget and time constraints they decided to go for the more standard-fare Farcry to boost their reputation and budgets which it certainly did.

Now that they have the time and money they are working on their original project that they built the whole island engine for. So it could be really good. I won't be buying it as soon as it hits shelves though as I really want to see the reviews to make sure it isn't just a tech demo. In the end they're more interested in getting the game engine out there then the game itself.

Nice article let me pick the highlights:

*Console development in progress (PS3) possibly Xbox?

*DX10 Multiplayer gaming only

*Good boost in SLI already seen more max details/higher resolutions noticed and possible same for Crossfire!

*Dual core makes a major difference in gaming but Quad core remains untested/unknown.

*Q3 release date

Sounds all good, tbh had a feeling Crysis devs would be running it on just Core2duos and if the games designed under that perhaps quad core wont see any major boost! But will see. Gonna guess Crysis is due this fall...

Ahh I still recall those Crytek Dinosaurs running off a Geforce2 GTS :)

Doesn't sound good, according to Junes PC Gamer, Crytek have said Crysis is now next year as it keeps crashing in Vista, they got loads of problems, bugs to work through, another one bites the dust. :D

shame, its gonna end up like half life 2, delayed so long that other games will come out and no longer will its gfx be all that good.

remember how farcry came out before hl2 and killed all its thunder. maybe bioshock will do the same to crysis.

Yes it is a shame but i doubt any game in the next year will provide any real competition to Crysis in the gfx department.

how many time does it need to be said 'GAMEPLAY > GRAPHICS' , Farcry is such an overated game which falls into the Graphics > gameplay whereas Half-Life2(albeit short) was the opposite which had the added bonus of HL2 mp and css both still 'rampant' amongst the online gaming community

Matter of opinion mate.

Personally I thought HL2 played like a pile of crap most of the time with stupid AI and boring guns. Meanwhile Farcry looks better and was much more exciting to play.
