I got crysis 2 days ago when it was on offer on steam (finally decided to try it out) and man was I BLOWN AWAY by the graphics. I mean this game is about 2-3 years old but has the best graphics ever!

Anyways, I have a problem. My monitor's native res is 1920x1080 but the max option in crysis is 1600x1200. How do I fix this?

Shouldn't be, it should list your max resolution, have you scrolled down [if you can] to check if their is more resolution options available?

Lol, at the people who mis-interpret it for Crysis 2.

haha! Thanks! I didnt see the scroll down thing lol!

Now I have another problem. My monitor is connected via HDMI and its an ATI card so it had this thing that if you dont change the underscan/overscan settings, you get black bars all around the screen. I have corrected this

But now once I start the game and set it to my native res, the black bars come back again

Tried restarting the game again? And you don't have it as windowed mode do you?

I have this game on steam, it's not Crysis 2 by the way.

Mine comes up with 1920x1080 no problem..

Try updating your graphics card drivers

I played crysis some weeks ago and it is amazing graphically. However I noticed that during a large explosion if I quickly turned around the game would sometimes crash. I had 5850 with e6600 running at 2.4GHz. I suppose the cpu was being bottleneck and couldn't process explosion data quickly or may be it was just a bug. I have now e6600 at 3.0 GHz but haven't run the game. It would be interesting to see if same thing happens again. :D

Crysis has a habit of launching in 1080i or a different refresh rate (that you haven't set the overscan settings for, hence the not filling the screen) when running in DX10. Try ticking the 'use GPU scaling' option in CCC.
