ok, gave it another bash with everything on high @1920x1080 and it seemed ok, jumpy in a few places but nothing to worry about.
the thing though, that i dont remember it doing before, is things keep appearing as i get closer, like it cant render anything in the distance. is this normal or can i get rid of it? like i said, i dont remember it being like that last time i played it about 2 months ago on my old system.

Out of interest, what spec was your old system? I'm looking to build a new machine and I plan to use Crysis as a benchmark for performance.

What you mentioned is known as pop-in and it's caused by the draw distance settings. Have a look at the Tweak Guides Crysis article to see how to adjust this using a custom config.

is there any reason why it wasnt there on the old cpu/mobo but is now? or was it there i just didnt notice it do you think.

Are you now running the 64bit version of Crysis instead of the 32bit on your old hardware? I had issues with the 64bit, it actually gave me worse performance than the 32bit..
