"Gamers, rejoice! Thy God hath bestowed His merciful hand upon thy humble heads, and yes, thou shall be able to play Crysis this fall!

That’s right, your prayers have been listened: after an eternity of waiting, numerous delays and jaw-dropping videos depicting CryENGINE 2’s outstanding performances, EA has finally launched the Crysis official site, available at ea.com/crysis. BTW, you should all get the wallpaper and beware of the more detailed in-game movies…

But besides the novelty brought by the site’s launch, there’s one aspect we should all praise: Crysis is now scheduled for this autumn! (It’s about time, Blizzard would say…) If you’ll take a look at the “Features” section of the site, you’ll notice that in the upper left corner of the screen there’s a hint concerning the ship date, which is… you guessed it, “fall 2007”!

That doesn’t necessarily remove the doubts that are still hovering over the highly-anticipated game (I’ve seen Crytek’s developers saying that Crysis will come out in “early 2007”…), but it’s still the first credible sign (since it’s on the official site…) that Crysis is approaching the finish line. What more do you need when you have even the pre-orders section ready…

Speaking of pre-orders, ****** is already offering the game indicating that the launch date is September 11! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this, but there you have it: the game will have a price of $49,99 and eager customers who pre-order it will also get a redemption code and instructions for downloading the unlockable “NK Amphibious APC”- a vehicle kept secret until now in all Crysis previews. ******** and ******** are also pointing to the fact that Crysis will land on stores' shelves as early as September 11, while ****.co.uk “postpones” the European debut all the way until September 14."

In the past week It seems all the big game sites in America have updated there sites to a September 11th release, I also had the game on pre order with a big retailer and got an email stating the release was now scheduled for the 14th September. Surely enough I checked other big websites and they all had updated there sites from TBA to the 14th, With E3 around the corner I'd be expectinfg some firm dates to come out soon  . Rock on!

Can't see your message from the floor.

Ontopic: Real tempted to pre-order this and cancel QW  I don't have much money

Don't know what to do, probobly stick with QW and play Crysis and a rich friends house with his uber pc.

 Crysis > QW anyday of the week. :D

More proof that CRYSIS is coming this September?

Prima is doing the strategy guide for CRYSIS. They have the release date for the guide listed as 9/9/2007. That is 2 days before the ship date of CRYSIS and 3 days before the retail outlets receive them. Game guides usually arrive in stores a few days before the game actually does, so this all lines up.

Have a look:

And this is even more interesting:

The CRYSIS E-Guide will be available to download 8/24/2007!

Now, when we went to E3 in 2004 - we spoke to some guys we know that work for BradyGames. I was super-mega-excited about MGS3 and I was trying to get our friend Jeff who works for BradyGames to let slip some guide details - like if there would be an artbook, etc. He told me that he wasn't allowed to say, but that the editors have to finish the game first before they can finalize the guide's content. He added that they would complete 100% of the game around mid-September.

?!? I was stunned. The game came out in November, and they would finish it in mid- September. That means they would have to get the finished game by August at the latest so they could make the guide and be certain they had the time to do everything the game allows. "They always do it like that" he told me. "Game companies always ship us an advanced copy of the game in either completed retail form or at least near complete, so we can pour over it and get our guides underway in time for the respective game's release date."

Advanced copies of games give the editors of each guide plenty of time to play through the game and find absolutely everything.

Now, if the E-Guide releases in late August - that means right now, or at least very soon, the editor of the CRYSIS Prima Guide will be playing a finished copy of CRYSIS! [Or at least a 95% complete version containing everything we are going to get in the retail version]

Lucky fellow

Whoever wrote that must be a moron

ATi:

HD2900XT --> ATi's new flagship performs very, very close to an X1950XTX - WTF. in separate tests performed by a number of review sites.
I think with this card you could probably play Crysis on very high -> maxed out settings @ 1280 x 1024 no AA (good FPS).

There are still some R600s that will arrive, I don't know much about their specs so I will leave them out for now.

8800GTS ---> a great card if you are on a budget. In Crysis the 8800GTS is most likely going to be limited by its processing power not its VRAM. You should expect these settings regardless of whether you have the 320 or 640MB.
I think with this card you should expect maximum settings @ 1280 x 1024 no AA (good FPS), probably up to a resolution of 1680 x 1050 (acceptable -> good FPS).

Absoloute rubbish don't believe any of this. It's all speculation till we have the demo in our hands or Crytek annouce the specs
