Crysis Upgrade - £300

Hey everyone, Just want you personal opinions on what you would do with £300 and the spec system I have now. This is to get games like Crysis running that little bit better

Heres my current spec :-

Gigabtye DS3
6300 @ 2.6Ghz (AC7)
4x512DDR 6400 Geil
Windows XP
40GB IDE *getting rid*
160GB SATA
EVGA 8800GTS 320mb Superclocked
19" Cibox TFT

Now heres what I was thinking, one of these. BTW Im deffonatle buying a new 500GB HDD and Vista Premium

Possible Upgrade 1

New Motherboard SLi - £75
Another 8800GTS - £200

Total - £275

Possible Updgrade 2

8800GTX or equivilant for - £300

Total - £300

-------------------

Possible Updgrade 3

Quad Pro Q6600 - £235
BEASTY CPU COOLER - £50

Total - £285

-------------------

Ermm I could list more, but if you think theres one there you would do if you had my PC or if you would just do something compeltely differant please let me know.

well I would like to upgrade while I have money

and its not jsut for Crysis, but for games such as Bioshock, World In Conflict etc

You don't even need to upgrade for Crysis - that will comfortable run it all at max meh thinks although theres no way of knowing.

If you are going to upgrade wait until the new nVIDIA cards are out atleast instead of upgrading from a superb card to a slightly better card.

Anyway - I'm sure EVGA do a stepup program where you can get a GTX and only pay the difference if you have a GTS.

That looks like a good setup to me and should handle Crysis fine, perhaps not max settings but at least at a good graphics setting.

If you are desperate just buy an 8800GTX and you'll be fine. But i'd recommend waiting just to see how things play with your current setup.

by the time these games are out the 9xxx series might be out, and maybe "true quad core", also keep in mind that you can sell the old of what you are replacing.
