Theres no way I'm swapping between EA downloader and Steam depending on which game I want to play at the time! So I'm not starting to build an EA downloader account.

Yeah, EA isn't like Steam, it's NOT a game client. You don't need to run it ever again after downloading and installing. The 4 EA games I have just show up in my Vista Games Explorer (or can run via desktop shortcuts, or if you wanted to, added to your Steam games list). The actual install files you download are identical to the retail versions and are installable without the EADM.
