Ok so im looking for a nice game to buy to play over xmas while away from uni. No games at the moment really tickle my fancy. was going to get GTA 4 but after hearing that it runs like absoloute dog just put me off.

I played crysis the other day and really enjoyed it. I was just wondering has anyone tryed crysis warhead and if it is any good compared to the original?

Many thanks
Ryan

Warhead singleplayer is awesome, and looks bloody stunning if you have the power for it.

Never tried multi, gave my online key to a friend as it didn't interest me.

I completed it on friday night, i thaught it was brilliant. yes it generaly was short, but as a lot of people in her say if you play crysis first then warhead it is better and would probably seam longer.

5-6 hours playtime on the higher difficulties, however its cheap as chips so that's to be expected. View it as a standalone expansion to crysis rather than a full game.

GTA runs better now with nvidia latest drivers 180.84. Its a good game but something u play on and off.

Warhead is great, if u loved Crysis, then Warhead is a must. It brings new things to the crysis world such as weapons, vehicles, and better story telling through the characters.

I cant wait for the next installment, such as what happens after the island is nuked...

GTA4 is fine if you have a quad core. Only people moaning about bad FPS are either dual core users or people who lack the patience to adjust the gfx settings to match their PC. You should be easily able to get a solid 30FPS as I can get this on a Q9450 + GTX260-216 which is close to your spec PC. Warheads ok but very short gameplay gets boring fast as its the same old run shoot dodge no variety whatsoever and forget running it on max gfx unless you have a mega expensive PC as the FPS is worse than Crysis in many places even though they turned down some of the draw distances & texture details.

Crysis Warhead was amazing. When upgraded my rig to quad and 4GB of RAM the difference was amazing. You dont care about the AA because it plays soo smooth.

I've seen a hardcore PS3 console gamer bitch about PC games but then build a super rig, install Crysis and just say "oh man this puts everything else to shame".

Drive a truck through check points or stealth the entire way, its up to you!

I remember this one part i ran out of rockets as this heli gun ship approached. I had to stealth it for like 30 mins to find the next hut with more rockets. It was soo intense & the first time i played it was hit and run, no problem.

I like to spend ages planting mines & bombs, get to high ground, let the bombs go off, fire a RPG into a crowd, get the sniper rifle out and let loose.

I see games like Metal Gear Solid & think 'dude why did you just fire when the crosshair was no were near the guard......" answer because it was a controller & nothing can compare to sand box action of Crysis game. If you dont have a good enough rig then it takes 50% of the immersion level away.

I've been debating this aswell, as warhead is very cheap these days.
I enjoyed crysis, and it ran surprisingly well on my setup at 1280*1024 (no AA) with basically everything on high except post processing because I hated that over the top blurr it did when you turned.

A bit of a bummer to hear it performs about the same or a bit worse than crysis though, especially as they were telling us before hand how they were optimising the engine better in warhead.
