Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

God dammit!!!!!! All this time i was on the wrong freakin' gun!!! I didn't realise there was one of those awesome cannon things closer to the back, i was alternating machine guns!

Still did it though :D (Albeit looking at the "Press fire to load now" screen more than the fighting one)

Ditto.

I just had a go at warhead and everyone guns where firing chickens wtf??

I can knock stuff down, no one can kill each other though O_o

Just completed this game, ending was too easy tbh. Although the cut scenes etc were awesome.

Not sure what people are talking about with it being short though. Yes it wasn't as long as Crysis, but there's a lot of gameplay in there...

Although the cut scenes etc were awesome.

Most cutscenes were good but others were a bit odd. There was one quite far into the game if I remember - They were trying to convey emotion, but it just seemed to drag on FOREVER. I wanted to skip it but didnt in case I missed an important part of the story.

Just completed it now. Right in time in fact because i'm selling one of my 8800GT's to a friend cheap so he can keep the cost of his new build down!

On the whole, I though it was a better game than Crysis. Not as long (obviously), but I feel Crytek are starting to get the idea with the cutscenes bit, actually feeling part of the story. I was very apprehensive upon hearing Psycho was your character, but he turned out to be SO much better than Nomad. There was a personality there you didn't have in Crysis.

Few little tweaks for the better.. Better guns, vehicles, explosions seem a little nicer? Certainly feels like there is more stuff to blow up in general. The set peices (See above) were a little fraustrating on Delta but there is always a way to get it done.

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable gaming experience. Shame i needed two graphics cards to help it along, but now i can't wait for the next installment of the Crysis series :)

Im just about to visit the purple shirt brigade and pick up this game but reading a few forums there seems to be quite a few issues installing and playing this game

some ppl saying the game doesnt install on their DVD drivers, others saying securerom stops installing, then ive read you need to disable all your virtual drives for the game to work ? i used VDs to run mini images of my LEGAL games  ?

is this game more trouble than its worth or are there fixes for all these issues ? im really only buying it for MP mode, is it actually worth it ?

Completed this on Delta last night, probably died about 6 times in doing so and most of them were on the level where you follow the pilot in the A/C.
By changing my approach from "stormtrooper stylee" to slinking around the game actually became easier. I also handicapped myself by only using the FY71 and various explosives, missile launchers and mines. Once you get the assault/sniper scopes and use the FY in single shot mode its quite straightforward to take out the soldiers one at a time. Save incendiary ammo and rifle grenades for the aliens.
Only took about 5 hours total gameplay to complete, actually I feel a bit mugged off about this as if Warhead had been a true add-on and priced a bit cheaper I would not moan about it but as they got it out just before Farcry 2 while the Crysis fever was still raging and padded it out with video I feel, as I said, mugged off :(

Just completed this (the day after Crysis, lol). I can't believe how short the game is, maybe 4hrs? That's gotta be the shortest standalone FPS I can remember playing.... ever?! Even expansion packs like Doom3:RoE or CoD:UO are far longer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for quality over quantity and absolutely love some so-called short games with high production values like HL2:Ep1 and Max Payne 2. But this is taking the mick :(

There's the odd worthwhile tweak (auto ammo pickup), more effort in the cutscenes and a few nice set pieces but overall it's certainly not as good as Crysis. Apart from being a lot shorter, the storyline is a bit harder to follow and there doesn't seem to be so much opportunity to explore and take different routes.

I've just got this game. The bit after the start where you chase the other hovercraft in the snow/ice brings my system to a few frames per second on enthusiast settings and gamer settings. Never had this problem with crysis but i did have my CPU clocked up a lot more then

My box came with seperate DVD installers for Warhead and Wars - as I'll be playing both is there a way to avoid duplicate data? Need all the space I can get on C:\ these days!

Just been playing Crysis Warhead again but on my new rig.
Playing on 1920*1200 on Ultra (occasionally turn down post processing).

On Delta its immense....i go stealth 90% of the time.

When you save the crashed F-35 pilot & get into the mini gun truck ....i only made it half way before truck was about to blow. First time i drove through a massive Korean check point but this time i was forced bail out & was surrounded. Used stealth to plant C4 on each truck ....got to a high point...blew the trucks up, fire the rocket launcher on heli, got the sniper rifle out and took soliders one by one. So satisfying the replayability is endless.
