Hi

bit unusual but . . .

the Crystal Reports CD for v10 and v1 and prob others

i've seen the v10 and v11 cd - looks to me like it has the very shiny mass produced label you get on pressed cds (so not from a home printer) same as a music cd from a store

but the data side is burned like a dvd-r ?

Q) Can anyone vouch for what it should look like in reality ?

yes i'm paranoid about viruses but i am interested to know

i have seen a company send an update out like that

the last updates of nero v6 are done like that as i bought one for a couple
of quid as its not on their site anymore

Thanks

Did you buy it retail or from a partner/reseller? If it was the latter I don't think they can get boxed copies any more so they may have sent you a burnt physical copy for convenience.

What version are you using? If you're super paranoid and have bought CR 2008, download the demo from SAP's website and use your product key. The demo download is the same software as the full version.

hi

mine are via ebay but sellers only had a handful so sounded like old stock sort of deal

talking v10 and v11

the top side is defo as good as a music factory produced cd but underneath suprised me
to be honest

have you seen a real cd of v10 or v11 or maybe just use it on a server ?

thanks

I'll check if we've still got some copies lying around at work today, though from memory nothing really stood out as being different in the way the discs are made!

We use it at work but we have it as part of another program (the CD front has this company's branding on it, along with Crystal Reports. The CD I have in front of me (1 of 2) is the same as a DVD-R underneath but has proper printed information on the front on a silver background (so as per a normal factory-produced CD). I might also have a full version of Crystal Reports that is direct from them. I'll check and post back for better confirmation.

I've just checked our copy of Crystal Reports XI and the cds look like normal factory produced cds. Very 'silvery' on the data side, rather than coloured like a recordable cd/dvd.
