hey guys, i have been playing a lot of cs:go beta recently. at first it sucked, hit detection was all off and there were only 2 maps available. However my friend (m3lm0th) made a vid and told me that the dev team are now making weekly updates every friday.

anyway im sure ocuk have a big cs following as i remember playing it 10 years ago when i was in my teens. anyway, vid is below:

I managed to get onto the Beta, big disappointment for me. It's an updated source at the moment. Changes to train/nuke have been horrible, it's like they have made them smaller so it's like a death match, rather than tactical.

Spray pattern is wild, don't even bother trying a controlled spray, it doesn't work. tap is effective though. Weapon sounds are rubbish as is the feeling when firing the guns. Feels like firing toy guns.

Trying to think of any positives..... the gfx are okish I suppose :|

it is very different from 1.6. i think they changed nuke a lot in that they took away the back stairs and stuff like that. maybe they have to dumb down some aspects for the consoles.

the hitdetection has improved a lot. it might be me not being able to remember burst firing from 10 years ago but i do agree that controlled spray is very difficult atm.

dunno about the weapon sounds, they dont realyl bother me. i wish there was more kickback in this game as atm it doesnt feel when u fire the gun it doesnt feel as immersive as say source or 1.6

hmm i managed to pick up a beta key as i went to eurogamer 2011 last year and they were giving them out for confetti. I think it is still pretty easy to get a beta key maybe, some people are selling them on ebay.

Pretty certain if you email a dev maybe or ask in the cs go steam forums that you might get lucky.

Not sure when this is going ito a public beta.

I do remmeber cs 1.6 in 16v16 lobbies being immensely fun =]

one thing i do like tho is no bullcrap perks and killstreaks, its all gun on gun, aim vs aim.

If there is a sniper in mw3 i have no fear as i know if i get closer or aim first he is dead. this game, i hear an awp and see him get a kill, the fear of going down that route is definite. maybe im a scaredy cat but still. Don't get that feeling in mw3 :)

I got into the Beta as well. Massively underwhelmed to be honest. Feels completely retarded, like I'm using an analogue stick to aim. I've mucked about with the mouse settings to no end. Not that I should need to anyway, because every time I've installed Source or 1.6 the mouse settings have been spot on as default.

I'll give it a try when it's released, but I can't see me spending anywhere near the same sort of hours on it as I have on Source.

Why won't they re-record those awful radio voices?

Counterstrike is meant to be skewed towards "realism" (real-world weapons, single life, no health packs etc) and yet the radio voices sound like a teenager with a distortion filter. Which they probably are...

They should get some decent voice actors and add a feature where the radio "broadcast" includes appropriate background noise. So if you shout "fire in the hole" whilst firing your MP5, your team mates hear the muffled sound of an MP5 behind "fire in the hole".

turn off vsync if things feel sluggish, its like a completely different game if u do that.

Is this effectively CS 3, a new release or more like dlc

The idea I heard was they would make it suitable for competition, doesn't sound like they have won over the hardcore really.
I prefer CSS anyway as its much easier and they turn on FF all the time which requires some thought
