CS:GO Discussion

Hi guys. Just got my CS GO server up and running. Come along and give it a go. Could a forum moderator please amend my server details on the first page of this thread :)

Thanks

Just got back from Germany. I was in the VIP lounge for ESL, I will upload some photos here if you would like to see them. It was absolutely amazing, there were also some records broken, having the most viewers at one time, and some other records. The whole vibe there is amazing.

Got to meet (and take a picture with) Andres! Looked amazing from a viewer's point of view. There were as many people watching the game as there are people in my country LOL. Really should aim for 750k next event (50% rise per tournament looks good)

So here is a couple of photos. I have loads, but only have time to upload these so far. :)

I am unsure which NiP team this is, I know it is not CS. Maybe DOTA/LoL? - Someone may be able to help me with this.

Sometimes it is hard working.

5ub it looks like a lot of fun. Atmosphere would have felt amazng!

How did you do on the sticker bets, did you find the time to place them?

5ub to get_right before the match ( use p90 use p90) , after the final get_right ( all emotional with tears thanks 5ub for p90 advice ) :D

The first and second day, I won all bets apart from 1. - Unfortunately I had no time during the event to the final to place the bets. I wanted NiP to win throughout, and they did it. :) - Shame I couldn't bet through a web browser on my phone when I had WiFi sometimes. Or I should have kicked the pros off, and stop the match and say "Sorry I need to place my bet!". Haha. :D

Haha, of course, I gave NiP advice which is the reason as to why they won. :D

*This may be a lie, or is it!?

Very jealous indeed.can't imagine what watching the matchs would have been like, it was so tense and exciting watching it on your own in from of a pc I can only imagine having the electric of the crowed charging the room with every head shot and missed AWP.

Is there a regular tourney schedule on the CSGO scene or is it quite random? Kind of sad it's over now, enjoyed it more than the shamble that was the world cup.

I forced my missus to watch a lot of the games. By the end she knew the different place names on Inferno and all the rules like buying kits and the economy. She also picked way more winners than me but Im a sucker for an underdog team. I picked up some good tips/smokes and such from a few of the matches. Interesting to watch the teams work as a team so well when they just know where each other is at all times.

I agree with this! Looks SO fun!

There are games daily. There are a lot of online tournaments with quite good prize pools (10k+) along with StarLadder etc.

You should look at hltv.org. Ot is the hub for CS gaming, and it has all the top games features, amongst a lot of interviews, pictures, etc. It is the home of competitive CS.

Matchpages also have links to streams.

Regarding majors, there are around 3/4 a year. The 3 majors were Dreamhack Winter (Dec/Jan), ESL Katowice (April??) and ESL One Cologne (yesterday). Don't think CS will be in DH Summer (think DH summer passed already, not sure), but I'm sure it will return in DH Winter.

If you follow Room on Fire (Andres and Semmler's channel) you have pretty much 75% of the games covered.

I picked up a few little things and generally learnt how to play a little more coordinated/patiently, help a lot seeing the match unfold from a outside perspective.thoroughly enjoyable learning experience indeed.

Yea, I think it shows just how long the rounds actually are when you see the pros playing, countless rounds I play are all over within 30 seconds and it helps to realise that just mindlessly charging in without any kind of set up is generally a bad idea most of the time. Hoping to get a good few games in tonight if I don't get out of work stupidly late
:D

Ill be on for a few definitely. had a great comp match last night and only one to go before I'm ranked!

Malteser ill check that lot out pronto.

Watching the pro's play is phenomenal, when you see them stalking the bombsites simultaneously orchestrating a charge or fake in perfect synchronous it really highlights the power of tactics.
