It isn't the sort of game that relies on iron sights (uses a crosshair) or graphical realism of any sort, CS is and always has been a team-based game reliant heavily on co-operation, tactics and skill.

I found Titanfall just eye-candy, low-skill and a total yawnfest and not fun at all, but each to their own i suppose.

No offense, but are you new to the CS scene? CS:Go is not about the iron sights, kill streaks etc. It is raw gun on gun skill, with no health regen. It is different to many main stream games.

It takes getting used to. Coming from a CoD background, I found this game very very very basic (like you) but when you learn the ins and outs of it (money situation, gun recoil pattern, map knowledge etc/) you see that it is great in its own unique way. It has a steeper learning curve than many other FPSes. I would tell you to give it another go, maybe even with some people explaining stuff to you while you play. It can be very fun and very addictive.

If we get 20 people, we might do a BO1 game. It can work out I think.

Also, eventually, I will try and set up a donation page, where the funds will be used to rent the server out. If each person pays 1 quid (and we have 10 quid min) then I think we have a server for a month. Not 100% about prices tbh.

Hazy already rented one for a month. I;ll get down to the actual event thread tomorrow/in the weekend.

This. The amount of times I have played with randoms an we won comfortable as CT but lost the game due to the Terrorist side being a shambles. Communication is vital and so many people seem to be scared of rushing.
 
This is if you want to be good at winning and not just banging up a KD ratio the very essence of a tactical shooter. I would go as far as to say the best tactical shooter.

Communication, tactics and execution get you kills and wins, win as a team and not as a lone gun and the feeling is immense, you can dictate the way the game plays if you get it on point.

I was thinking of setting up a server, somewhere to play non comp games for practice without the idiots you meet online.
I had one lad tell me he would shag my dad. I replied "do what you like, it isn't my arse" He went quiet after that because his troll was weak at best.
It isn't expensive, I had a epoch server with this hosting company and always had good pings, think a GO server is like 0.35p a slot, cheap as chips! If it is going to get good traffic from respectable people I would be happy to get one up and running which would obviously be set aside for match nights if needed.

What crosshair do you guys use?
I would appreciate if you posted the commands in as well and possibly a screenshot of your crosshair? :P
 
I change my crosshair more often then I should, I tend to do the stupid thing of "oh no I just had a bad game, ill change some settings" even tho I know its not the settings.

cl_crosshairsize 4 I think im using atm tho.

I have paid the 1st month no issues it was like £5.63 or something if this proves successful we can keep server going. Multiplay have a cool clanpay thing where you can chip in( and I cant run off with it all :D). I think next months will be £7.50 if we stay with them. I just played on the server for an hour and reg was awesome low pings (18) too as its in London.

That would make for some seriously well planned retakes from the ct side :D, time to have a cup of tea and a chat before doing anything.

Ill jump on tomorrow night for a few. casual without idiots and decent teamplay would be a dream.


My crosshair is very small. Helps me get those headshots.
 
Got my internet back today but working tomorrow so i be up for games over weekend.. Gonna buy a new account to troll on and not take to serious with as with my main i usually play with same people and my smurf is LEM and i haven't played for a while so im gonna suck for a bit lol

I use Get_Rights preset on the link above, with an added dot in the middle. I'm happy with it for the moment. Used to have a tiny crosshair for headshots but this one, seemingly, helps me land more hits overall and still has the dot when precision is needed.

Hey guys, I'm only silver elite master but would like to play with some people regularly.
