CS:GO Discussion

Is this game now full of console kiddies and russians or am I just having bad luck?

I've not really played any counter strike since 1.6 but decided to give it a go again as its not a huge time sink.

Unlocked competitive and its ranked me at MGE, Far too high in my opinion but not much I can do about that so now I seem to get grouped with a load of kids who think they are pro's.

I'll openly admit I'm **** and I really hope I drop down a few ranks but its really not fun being harassed on the mic from start to finish each game!

Well luck is definitely on my side, just unboxed the exact same knife I got the other day :D

You can drop into this easily if you are natural at fps,
You need a good headset I use studio headphones not xpensive and rly good for positional audio. Look for Audio Technica ATH m20x or m30x (no microphone)

Dont bother playing casual just play DM and watch some tournaments (big ESL tournament comin soon) to learn the game. prepare for trolls and cheaters on Match Making and make sure you aim for a head (come with practice mostly from DM or some practice aim maps)

Same with bayonet for me I like the animation. I have like one AK blue skin from a friend and tons of boxes but not interested nor tempted to shell money for that.

headset and mic or headset with mic.

its a team game which relys on communication (so you can let your team know where you were killed from)

its totally different to COD and the learning curve is much steeper. (cant just run and gun like COD) there are a lot more tactics involved.

you'll need to rank your profile to level 3 before playing the competitive side (buy the bloodhound pass for £2 as it helps rank up fast) but i think without it youre looking at around 10 hours ish of deathmatch/arms race to get your profile up.

after that is where the fun begins.
