Or alternatively just add £4.00 to your steam wallet, use it to buy a game for ~£3.00 and then with the ~£1.00 of change leftover you would easily be able to buy maybe 30 or 40 basic skins if you don't particularly care about the quality/rarity of the skins and you just want something that looks nice

Edit: Buy from the steam marketplace I mean - a lot of the basic skins on there are 2p or 3p each
 
... or add £250, and buy stattrak rares (like some idiots seem to). Sold a Stattrak Boreal Forest DDPAT gut knife a few weeks ago, that'll keep my steam wallet going for a year or 2 :)

He's right though, you can get low level skins for 3p, 5p etc.
 
Actually it's pretty common knowledge that those rare £100+ stattrak weapons actually take your game to the next level... Get one of those and you'll instantly be on par with any seasoned pro, right?
 
yep I bought a stattrak awp, and my next match had Heaton Potti Walle and f0rest on my team.

Heh, I have bought some skins I admit, I got a couple drops watching Dreamhack, and now have a full Dreamhack souvenir loadout :) Most of them were 20-30p, think the dearest was the AK (around a fiver).

Ouch! I'm still struggling with the idea of spending more than a few pence on any in-game items in any game... Sure I guess small purchases do eventually add up but as soon as it's enough money in a single transaction that I start thinking - "I could buy a new game for this much" it instantly puts me off
 
I look at the souvenir drops as money in the bank. Sure, I spent about a tenner on the items, but they aren't making any more so I don't think the value will drop much (unless the game dies off suddenly).

You're right though, the £120+ sitting in my wallet from the stattrak knife is a big temptation to blow £££ on daft items... bought a lot of keys with not much value back (although I got another 2 knives (£25 each), 2 x redline awps (£9 each) and the octopus shotgun (about a fiver but too awesome looking for me to sell) among others worth a bit.
 
Enjoying this a lot but performance is disappointing. With vsync off I'm getting poor gpu usage and fps can drop below 60 sometimes, not very good on such an old engine. Using a 2500k and 7950.

What settings you on? I drop mine to lowest and get consistently over 120 on 2500k and Nvid 560ti.
 
Sounds like something isn't right, your system should really play GO flawlessly. I have lots of friends with systems much poorer than yours who never get any performance issues.

Have you done a google on any reported issues in CS:GO for your card?
 
Does anyone know if you can check your inventory to show it's total value or do you have to go through each item one by one against the market place guide value?

Also do people only trade going by the exact market value price like 20p for 1 item? Could you trade 2 items that might only be worth 5p each or would they want 4 items so it's ends up 20p for 20p?

I've been collecting since the arms deal started and I've probably only got about £2.50 worth of items. :confused:

It's also saying items on market might have name tags, other colours or descriptions? I'd just like a standard skin that you would get in the normal way.

The only thing I'm looking out for really is that the skin is field-tested. I'm not looking for anything lower or higher than that.

The ingame GUI is pretty clunky, you're right. Pretty sure you can't check the inventory total value. I don't recommend going by the graph you get when putting an item up for sale, personally I search the market for the same skin, and put it for sale slightly cheaper than the lowest offered if after a quick sale. Kinda depends on what it is, obviously.
It's unlikely that you would buy a name-tagged skin, and unfortunate if it had a s*** name. Surprised they don't reset on sale.

I have quite a few, and might be willing to trade if there are any you are after.

Anyone here done the 'Trade Up Contract'? I have some skins for guns that I don't use and I basically want skins for the AK and M4, would I have a chance to get one out of these or would it be totally random?
 
Haha, name-tagged skins... If TF2 name tags are anything to go by I'm not counting on seeing any good names around... I think I can count the decent weapon names I've seen on one hand :p
 
I keep thinking about joining the market but I can't join because it says you need recent purchases to be able to sign up to it. I don't want to buy any games I'd just like to sign up without having to buy something first. :confused:
 
does anybody know how to fix choke on cs go. i have rates set 100000 and update and cmdrate set to 101. 60 mb connection and get the odd choke here and there that stutters the gameplay, any tips?
