Waiting for some moneybags oil sheikh to paypal offer me so I don't have to give Valve their 15%. It's also probably worth more than the max steam purchase price limit of £256.

Phoenix over, I guess soon a new map pack and also maybe new case ? I'd sell before then to avoid anything too good stealing the market, is it all pre listed in workshop I like the p90 module

I hope cache becomes a regular map somehow, that was a good one

Game feels so much better playing on a stable ~15ms connection compared to the ~80ms 3G I've had to put up with for the last year and a half. So much so I occasionally enjoy playing it. Still not even close to licking the boots of 1.6 in my eyes though.

I get seriously angry with the derps in match making. I need two more wins to get "ranked" and then that should be the end of it, but I just can't bring myself to chance it!

Wouldn't hold your breath, it improves as you rank up but you'll still face clowns regularly.
 
right i got this yestday. i joined 3 games. 2 of them someone clearly had an aimbot. 1 of them was 62 - 2 and the other was 53 - 0.

the other game there was a load of people stood in a room and you couldnt get out of the room and couldnt kill anyone :-s what am i missing?

not first FPS, a long standing COD/BF player. first time playing counter strike though.

just clicking play and then quick play or whatever it was. ive watched tons of videos online of people playing etc and this thread seemed pretty active and big so decided to have a bash at it but it wasnt a very good start. whats the best way of going about getting into a game without hackers.
 
Go to play then find a game.

Maybe select gun game since you haven't played a CS before. Competitive probably won't be too difficult though at silver.

You'll be going into community servers. To start with try Play > Find a game which should put you into valves servers which would be normal maps and modes. Although once you're used to the game, the community servers can be a lot more fun because of new maps and game modes.
 
I think most here are working on improving their rank by going through the competitive match making section.

When I get 20 or so minutes to play I tend to go on this server:

176.57.128.184:27115 [BlER]Garten >>> Random Maps -<<<

Get to play a decent rotation of the maps, I haven't seen a single cheater on the server and it has a large group of regular players too.
