CS:GO Discussion

If silver is basic then I need to get ranked up, I should be higher :P

It can be basic beginner level or silvers can be good as nova I think, in a pub game a good silver will be top fragger np. It varies massively but basic is the general perception for comp.
My last game on Rush our team was silver and me as nova 1 and we beat the nova 3 team almost every round

I think this explains why the first shot has to be hs a lot of the time, to do well

Yes Ping is the time for information to get to the server and back. Measured in thousanths of a second. 200

ping = 0.2 seconds or 1/5th of a second.

If you have a high ping you will often notice that your shots are not registered because the server says you

were dead before you fired it. You mostly notice it by being moved back to a place you thought you had passed

to die.

If someone with a low ping fires at you at exactly the same time as you fire back at them. You will always die

and they will be fine. By the time the server receives the shot from you, it has already registered the other

shot and you are dead.

You might think 0.2 of a second is not long, but an AK will fire 2 extra shots in that time(600RPM).

Was watching Hiko with subs do a B rush on dust 2. After 1 smoke has popped at exit to site, all but one run backwards into B . A flash is also thrown and all turn round in the smoke as they enter site.
Seemed to work, never would in a random game but I could see it doing well if not repeated too often

If 4 people vote for a kick, then I think I shouldn't get the ban.
They have to sanction kicks. Its used to avoid losses afaik (nobody knows elo exactly but imo) and also the common 4 man pre made kicking the 5th for a bot especially a lower rank player/non smurf

So where are the invites for OcUK games? I was enjoying not playing with randoms for once and getting some team familiarity.
What go on JSRaider?

Add me vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv I'll invite you to a few games, then you can add the rest of the group.

Cheers, added you on my smurf account. I got ranked on it yesterday, gold nova 4. I was hoping for better though had some dire match ups in the first ten games, another reason I would love to play with less randoms.

*Edit. Also been working on my sensitivity and aim. Got it down to 1.2 ingame 700 DPI still. Need to work on my spraying paterns a lot too.
That's what I love about this game, you get to where you think you are good, then you FPV someone and realise how much you are lacking. It's like you need to get to certain levels of skill to fully appreciate the higher ones.
Anyway would love to get better with some regular players. Another thing is the mic thing, been FPS'ing since flipping space invadars and never used a mic. I found out the other day there is one on my laptop, much to the annoyance of everyone in the lobby I joined, as I didn't know it was on and it was set rather high. Sorry guys.
So yeah, really not looking forward to using a mic for the first time. I am not much for the chit chat, just wanna game.

I really need to work on my recoil control, im tagging so many players and missing kills, 23+ assists in just 2 games yesterday with 40 in something like 5. Im playing pretty regular with these lads and some of the game are a real challenge for me as generally most of the opponents are 4+ ranks above me but it is hellafun and like you I never used my mic, never even played any sort of strategic game in any fps but it is my favourite part of playing with a group of friends now and what makes me love GO.

I am improving and enjoying it even more for it. The banter is hilarious sometimes too, Zeus rounds for the win! we didn't, not with the Zeus atleast.

Was gutted the other night when you invited me and I had to rejoin Steam and when I did the match had started. I'd been waiting for someone to come on all night.
As a say just want to find some regulars.

I enjoyed a match last night with some ocukers. Altho I'm only silver 4 (steam Id mrobbo) and I don't really know the names too well of places on the inferno map. Hope I was somewhat useful. Won 5 games in a row now but still no rank up :((

is it preferable to have a hiher DPI and lower in game sens or vice versa. Currently im using 400dpi and 4.00 in game

I don't think it matters, though some would say it does.

http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1jsd9q/lower_in_game_sensitivity_with_higher_dpi/

Best post in there for me was "You get the best possible precision you can get by playing a lot regardless of sensitivity.

Just make sure you can make small adjustments, i.e. don't have your sens so high that you can't move your crosshair a few pixels precisely and that you can check corners fast when entering a bombsite i.e. don't have it so low it takes you 5 minutes to make a 90° turn. If your sensitivity isn't hindering you in any way then all you need is playing time."

True, the other half hates CSGO now with how much I seem to be playing :D

I was fortunate, playing with malt and jsraider I ranked silver 4 and then maybe 4 games later ranked up.

Has anyone use the training aim map? watched a video of frieberg using it and he said it was a good tool for sharpening up reflex's/warming up, it certainly has helped me to get a bit snappier.

I have been playing since cs beta 2 back in the day and it taken me ages to adjust although I don't play go very often these days. Most of my mates that do are now sheriffs while I am still master guardian 2 :(

Need to get back into fast switching awp, playing like a right noob at times

Any tips?

So I've been playing this game for a week now, really enjoying it so far. I didn't get any skins so far, is the only way to get them by paying for keys or do they drop in game as well?

Items can drop but they are pretty infrequent, I just sell them and use the credit for the steam sales. This game isn't about skins and flashy guns for me, it's about the action and best net code online.

I'm quitting this game, its nothing like CS... Totally different game, I mean source was bad but this is such worse... :|

3200dpi here and about 2.7 ingame.

That is insanely high!

I use 1.4 in game at 800 dpi, friend of mine has his at 3 but at 400dpi.

I will probably try 400 dpi once my G502 comes from Logitech, try out a few different sensitivities as see what works best for me
