Hi there,
For the last few weeks I've been having issues connecting to a competitve server that will suit me as I live in the UK. I have my ping set to max_175 and it will not let me join any server at all, ie EU West, EU North. The MM time just ticks by. So I thought I would up the max ping to max_300. After a very long wait it will put me in a North American server or a South African server where my ping is around 180-245, and as you will know having a ping like that is virtually unplayable. Ive tried using my 4G phone as a hotspot to rule out my Virgin internet connection and the problem still persists. I can be in a lobby with 4 other people and the time just ticks by, as soon as I leave the lobby they are able to find a low ping server to play on. Also occasionally when my ping is set to max_300 it tells me a match was found but failed to accept, even when the accept button did not appear. I have reinstalled both Steam and CS-GO to no avail!!

set your servers to eu east, google m7 csgo
I think its like that for everybody, I only won the last game as the other team had derankers. Problem is our team rushed both sites separately, zero thought to work other actions elsewhere on the map ie. wait 20 secs after the other site is pushed, maybe then yours has less people
no cohesion
USA is showing CSGO on tv next to NBA games and Thorin is giving jip to Shaq....

Ive not played all week so looking to play this weekend. My high was LE after crawling up from silver 4 a year ago. Won 3 in 10-11 since the shuffle and only dropped one rank to DMG but i feel another derank coming. Only thing keeping me up i think if the fact ive been fragging well in those losses.
My alt has dropped from MGE to MG1 but im passively playing it trying to derank to play with friends or anyone else that needs a useful player. I am trying hard to win sometimes though if the team are all communicating or if theres a fellow brit in the team....this doesnt happen often though lol

Just got back from a 3 week holiday, and pretty much didn't play for 2 weeks before that either due to Christmas parties etc...
Decided to login to my global smurf account first which has been inactive even longer. Won 16-3 and placed me at DMG..
I really hope this isn't the case for my main also, I'll see tomorrow.

Using Baddana's server picker doesn't work for me. If I set my ping to max_100 or max_300 and choose an EU West Server it will not work. If I turn the picker off and use max_100 I don't get a game anywhere. If I change it to max_300 I get put in a South American server!! Now you can't tell me that there isn't a closer match that they can make!!
If you have a look at this video WarOwl explains whats gone on with the ranking change and kind of why. really though you are still being put in servers of your same rank so nothing has really changed. It's just the fact of spending hours playing to get a nice Gold emblem badge and going back down to Silver Elite as I have is a bit annoying.
While the change is bedding in it does make things a bit horrible, but it is the right thing to do.
For a while now there's been a lot of dilution of the ranks and the standard has dropped significantly at the higher levels ranks. The range at those upper ranks is far too big at the moment and the re-balancing was due.

I had a right mare and my rank went from MG1 to GN1. I've now stayed there but on the way down it the games were really tough and full of derankers and idiots.
Things have picked back up, I can hit the targets again and I'm winning and losing like I was before.
The problem I have with the whole situation is the ranks are sort of a reward, an target and although I don't care what rank I really am, I do care that it is just suddenly taken away with no warning making me think I'm suddenly terrible. They could have been public about the changes, given advance warning and given explanation. For a competative game with professional paid players, you would think they would be more professional and transparent about what they're doing in the background.
That said, I can jump into a game and enjoy it now so that's all I care about

I believe you, just normal mm used to place me in usa games
Now it tends to slide people in scarce hours into all russian games. South america is impressive, I have played all Chinese game once. Im not certain why its being picky with you, disable the firewall try various ping test packet loss and so on. Turn net_Graph 1 on in game, take screenshot every 30 seconds post a few here. I guess you are fine in most games.

I have got an account thats only lost 1 game in that time also just from luck.They cant be open about rank determination because people are obsessed with it, they'll ignore all other parts of the game to just exploit one facet that gains the elo
[global is down to 0.7% now and DMG and similar halved, silver 1 2 has doubled. Average is nova 2 aprox]
P250 Mehndi prices spiked, much like the griffin you should be a seller at this point is the advice I read just fyi

This is at supreme, surely must be close to Global one day?!
Back in the day (Before the rank re-shuffle) on two accounts it took me similar records + a few more wins consecutively but with the reshuffle? I dread to think how many more
Its all very standardized, there aren't any 'exploits' as obviously its played for money these days. Get a mic setup and make sure you are maximizing your monitors fps with no drops. A larger mouse pad helps as generally people play with a low sensitivity.
IMO best thing to do is put hours into Demolition mode until you hit Rank 3 at which point you can dive into competitive. When playing competitive, stick to one map and learn the calls for the different areas, master it then move on.
Also get used to 5 year olds and incredibly angry/intolerant people, its all part of the charm
