Ok I know this is really random :) I'm very much against cheaters because they ruin the whole online experience for everyone else but somebody I know IRL may well be doing so on CS:GO (on steam) . Please note i'm not some saddo who is jealous of someone playing well. I dont want to go into a super long story but i've got reason to believe based on accidentally seeing some bookmarks relating to cheating sites.

This is an area i know very little about and am quite reluctant to even start looking into it in depth but I wondered if anyone happened to know which directory I should be looking in and rough file names? I'm thinking specifically bots but wh filenames too may be handy or is it not that simple as just glacing in a directory to find out for sure of someone is a dirty cheater?

(please note I'm not after any links or anything like that but just wondering if i can quickly "check up" on someone).

Cheaters are the devil of online gaming :p

On here or in PM is fine :) even if no file names but just the directory i should be looking in for odd files would be great.

Not as simple as looking in a directory..

I know when I was a kid and used to hack in CSS you had to place a .dll file in the system32 folder (or a windows folder) then launch a .exe then at the press of a button in game it brought up a menu and you could tweak your aimbot, wallhacks etc at will.

Same process for CoD2 and I doubt it has changed much since then.

I guess my next course of action should be just trying to fire up the game and seeing if anything odd appears.

I was vague earlier by saying "someone i know". It is actually a kid for the record :)

caz32, could i ask if things "used" to appear when you first enter the main menu or anything like that or did you have to go anywhere specific ?

Just try joining a game and see if the hacks are on I think they are by default and if not, then its hard to say cause the game just appears normal until you obviously bring the menu up to turn whatever on :p

Generally you have to start the cheat application first, and then it will hook into the game when you load the game, so you'll unlikely not find anything, unless you know where to look.

Hold on, you have access to his computer? Simple then. Check his downloads folder, or any folders on the desktop... Look at commonly ran programs.

Easily found.
