cs:s and my zyxel router.

My frustrating problem:

I go on to cs:s, find a server I want to join, click join, the box of server info comes up and the ping changes to 1000 or so. I close the box and try to join another server but the problem allways occurs. When I exit cs:s again the internet does not work. I have attempted to open the ports for cs:s on my router, I think I have done it right. Is there anything else that could be causing this.

Hi, what is the exact model of the router?
I think you could look on:
www.support.steampowered.com
and
www.portforward.com and look on firewalling and the different sections, I think your router would be in the guides.

Hi, iv done the port forward thing but I don't know if i have done it right, do i use the ip i use to log onto my router or do i have to find out my ip?

Find out your ip, it's under network connections, also we have a zYxel router here and its the most odd router I've come across, not only do you have to set a port forward you also have to set up a rule in the firewall in the router settings to allow the connection through to the port you want to forward, took me ages to get BT working with it.
