cs:s fps help

Right i got vista, core2duo 2.00ghz, 2 gig ram and 7900 gs go all on my laptop. The problem is when i create my own server for just me on a zombie map (zm_city17) i get between 130-300 fps, but when i go on a server with 22 people (inc me) i only get 17-60 fps.....is this normal?

On all maps? What graphics settings? Need more info.

A lot of maps are quite CPU intensive though.

1920 x 1200 at 0 aa and x2 af. It doesnt happen on all maps, got a gut feeling it is cpu related as even knocking down the res results in pretty much the same results.

has source release the patch for support on multicore cpus yet?
