what do most people get when playing CS:S, imgetting arround 25-30fps, is that good

that is on:

3200 AMD Barton
1GB ddr400
nvidia 6800nu

4AA
4AF
detail settings - mixture of medium& high
1440x900

it can take a hit in big servers though, seen as low as 90 if there are afew people on screen :p still more than enough though!

everything @ highest settings 1680x1050 reso

how can you play at 25-30 fps? if i were you i would turn down some of your settings and get a higher more stable fps. for instance get rid of the AA and AF

Try turning off AA and AF as you dont really need it
If you need more FPS then add -dxlevel 81 to your Lanch Options. then try
-dxlevel 80
-dxlevel 70
these will give you more fps but lower the game graphics
On my 9800pro I run 1600x1200 max everything but Bilinear Filtering and -dxlevel 81 and get 60+fps
Also on your STEAM launch icon add -beta (i think) to run beta (and often faster) source engine.

20-70fps, reaches 20 at spawn in large games when everyone starts moving...

640x480 all settings on lowest using Casey's Source config rofl :(

30 fps is fine tbh

with his system im betting lowering the gfx settings wont do much , if anything. it will be cpu limmited.

when i had my barton cpu and 6800gt id get the same fps on low gfx settigns as i did on high gfx settings if i played in a decent sized server.

css is one of the slowest fps about lol. even old CS was a bit faster.

as for my fps i get baout 200+ in the stress test and then about 40 ingame :o
