CS:S replacement

Ok i've heard rumours about a replacement for Counterstrike Source for some time now, does anyone have any concrete information about this?

Perhaps i didn't explain well enough in my OP, i dont want a replacement in that sense, i meant a replacement from the original developers of the game a la CS 1.6 was replaced by CS:S

I heard someone mention that on here too. Basically CS2.. or 3 if you want to count CSS as CS2.

Havnt heard anything actually in the media.

I remember on gametrailers there was an interview with Gabe Newell and they asked about CS2, I think he said it was in development or something.
I can't remember exactly what happened. I'll try and find the video.

I believe it is in development but to be honest i would not expect it anytime soon.

I wouldn't expect it to be anything like CS either. Source is quite different from 1.x - some differences, good, some not so good.

I'd like to see CS1.x reproduced with *nothing* but graphical updates. None of this fluff like oil cans and crates that get in the way all the time etc.

valve mentioned in there interview when portal was released that they doing something with cs:s 2 , but still on nda and early stages
