OMG - I am in awe, never even considered it.

what damage does a flashbang do?
and is the damage caused purely from throwing it into someone?

back on topic - yes, I love a bit of knife action
and I agree, after playing with headphones being knifed happens less now.
I will always try to offer a duel if its 1 v 1 at the end of a game for fun.

FB does 1 damage so if they have 1hp and no armour and yes throwing at someone.
 
So there I was, on cs_estate back in the days. I see one of the last terrorists on the balcony in front of me, it just so happens to be the best guy in the clan, he's distracted, possibly shooting one of my team mates. I pull out my knife, stab, straight to the head, then freeze... wtf... the server crashed :(
 
Theres nothing worst than getting kniffed.

Dropping something in the bin and having to go in after it, getting caught singing to ABBA , peeing on you trousers accidently when on a date - nothing is as bad as getting kniffed on CSS lol.
 
If you download Tuna's CSS movies, in one of them he has an out takes section where he manages to die from the sliding grate doors in the house on inferno. He only had 2hp at the time i think and its because of a bug that used to on 75tick servers quite often. Was quite funny to watch.
 
The knife can be used for other resons than just humiliating people. Thers been the odd time where ive not had time to reload my pistol and a good knife has taken the guy down, especially when they think u reloading so rush in.
 
hehehehhe knives were the best when css first came out and there were servers with statistics webpages to show you how many kills you had gotten with each weapon

my best ever was i got 3 knives in about 5 seconds while in a proper round (not a starting knife round)

might have been the biggest buzz in my gaming life ;)
 
I ALWAYS go for a knife kill if someone hasn't spotted me.

Last time I did one was last week on compound;... Snuck over the wall as a CT, hugged the building opposite, dashed under the bridge, up the stairs on the left and knifed the top-guy on the Terrorist team whilst he was sniping from the window :D

It can get you killed if you bring out the knife too early though :rolleyes:

Funniest moment i've had was on cs_assault_upc back when it first came out. I dashed outside and challenged a guy on the opposing team to a knife fight, and strangely the whole Terrorist team let me battle him! lol

...although once I'd won they turned their guns on me! haha hilarious!

Respect to the dudes that ask for a knife fight when you are last man, it should be encouraged.
On a good server say 8v8 you have 14 speccing the battle its great fun.
I love the sound it makes when you pull it out but it has given me away so many times and got me a face full of lead :p
 
I hate using kniifes for some reason but like g-man2004 said it rather funny when they agree to a knife battle and pull out a nice meaty weapon to Own them.

BUT AT THE SAME TIME I HATE IT WHEN IT HAPPENS TO ME. ;)
 
Played it for about a year and a half but got fed up with the changes Valve kept making to ruin the gameplay or bugs in the game. I prefer DoD:S now for quick deathmatch style combat, especially with rifle grenades.

I love knifing when i can... never do it in matches tho... too risky ;)
 
Knifing is the NO SWEARING, especially when you creep up on those camping sniper noobs fixated on their awp scope....... ;)

Good point, remembers to read whole original post next time. ;)

Knife fights are about the only fun thing I find in CS:S these days. Used to play a custom map called de_twilight and rush two narrow corridors with knife out to scare the players blocking the stairs. Used to get loads of kills depending on the server I was on.
