Hi folks
I have a 3 year old PC thats done me stirling service and I decided to give it a new lease of life with one of those ATI X9150 pro AGP graphics cards.
The rest of the spec is as follows.
P4 3.2 @ 3.5, 4 x 512 OCZPC3700EB memory sticks at 218fsb 2.5:2:2:6 timings , Asus P4C800E motherboard, Tagen 480W PSU and a Creative Audigy Platinum Pro 2 card.
The old graphics card was a GF6800 Ultra and with this setup the computer worked perfectly, albeit a little slowly in Company of heroes
Now last night I changed to the ATI X1950Pro 512meg AGP card and everything works perfectly ... except CS: Source which comes up with this message no matter what I do
I have tried the following
*running at default stock speeds on CPU and memory
* changing just about every BIOS setting there is
*downgrading the Catalyst drivers to 6.11 from 6.12
*Uninstalling source and removing CS: Source files and reinstalling from fresh
none of this has had any impact and it still crashes in the same place. I've also run looping 3DMark benchmarks whilst running Prime 95 and had no problems and done a Memtest 86+ check and everything is running perfectly except CS: Source
Does anyone have any ideas now? I ran the Source crash analyser and the only thing it flagged up was that I ran style XP, so I exited that and terminated the service to no effect.
All suggestons really appreciated.
