cs: source deathmatch

Ok so after a few weeks of normal play i decide to have a go on the deathmatch servers.
Now i don't mind but when i've got something like thirty kills and still can only get to use a pistol it kinda hacks me off. I know about typing 'guns' but it seems to do nada.
Any thoughts

whatkind of deathmatch server are you on? all deathmatch servers i know, you can choose what ever gun you want.

and one nade.
 
When you spawn it should ask you to choose your weapons, then on your next respawn choose rebuy every round (3rd on the menu I think).

Choose a different server!
 
Are you sure its not a different mod you're playing and not CSDM?

Anyway, one of the following should definitely work (for CS 1.6, guessing it's similar for Source...)

guns
gunsmenu
/guns
/gunsmenu
enable_menu
 
yeah the menu comes up at the top.
I was on one of the servers and after about ten kills another drop down menu came up asking which gun i would like to use. I then got this gun all the time.

It also comes up with a drop down menu asking me to key in 1, 2 or 3. I forget what it actually says now.

Go to servers on steam, then favourites, then add server. Or simply go into CS:S and type "connect ip:Port" in console :)
