CS source ping hovers around 150?

Just been on CS source and my ping is 150 and im getting stuttering/lag. Normally ping is at 16 or so. My rates are still fine at 25000 75 75 and pinging the server oustide of game gives 30ms.

I am completely stumped. Reinstalled drivers for gfx and modem. Speed is fine and so is ping (done a few tests to other sites in uk).

Was working fine on thursday.
 
No one has any ideas? Worked fine for months and now its stuck at 100-200ms no matter what. ISP seems fine download and ping wise this is really irritating as its only source that it happens in. :mad:

Yeah any server. Im on adsl 8mb tried everything I can think of.

Could be - just strange that I ping 40 out of game - 16 to web sites and in game my ping starts at 80 and rises to 210.

I'm with adsl24 - first time its ever done this. Just ran an adware scan - everything is clean.

Download speeds are ok - the pipes have been hammered but even when they are green and at full speed it still happens. Been like this since 3pm today.

Warhammer plays fine (well it still stutters - but thats graphic lag not net lag).

Edit: been monitoring the centrals and they all keep randomly going red - indicative of some kind of problem maybe. I guess i'll keep my eye on it and see if it fixes itself.

Yeah it stays at 0. Did a quick netgraph 3 and I have severe choke spikes (about 30) when the ping goes to 200+.

I'm gonna sleep on this and see what its like tomorrow.

Got the day off work so decided to try and crack this.

Here is what I have done.

Reinstalled graphic and modem drivers.
Spyware/malware sweep.
System restore

Its still exactly the same! Well annoying. Something has changed but I dont know what.

COD4 works fine gives me 50 ping to some euro server constant.

Theres loads of problems all pointing to source - but I have no clue how to fix it.
 
I’m not getting any problems with ADSL24 myself, although I’ve been playing TF2 rather than CSS.

I’ll try to remember to play a little CSS tonight to see if I get the same problem.
 
The problem is worse. Ping out of game is 35ms. Go into game the framerate is 0-1 with huge pauses and the ping is 350. This is after updating my nforce chipset drivers aswell.

Warhammer is lag free and so is COD4.

Have you tried rebooting your router and modem ?

EDIT: nvm, indeed tried reinstalling CSS? And running it with default settings ?

Edit: deleted my clientregistry.blob and now it will download. I think this is the initial cause and got corrupted preventing cs updating properly. Ah well I will redownload and see if it works.
