Just received a letter from the CSA saying "although my account is closed, I may still owe money"
I stopped paying six years ago and received a letter around that point to say I was free, or words to that effect.
How in the hell can these people screw around with people's lives and get away with it? My daughter's 25. Surely any monies due should've been claimed back when the case was closed!
I'm confused and annoyed at the same time.

I paid what I was required to pay until my daughter's 19th. There were arrears initially because it took so long to contact me, but I paid extra each and every month. The CSA sent me a letter to say the case was closed and now they may reopen it. That's my issue, why say it's closed and wait several years before making further contact.
They should investigate then contact, not the other way round.

You're not comprehending what I have posted. Read it again.

I appreciate what you're saying, but blanket notification causes unnecessary worry and frustration. How do you know they're addressing everyone on the DB?
