Hi,

on Desk Top start up loading I get an error message that in my local user folder the csrss.exe is missing !

Can I jst copy this from another PC and paste it into the path windows is prompting me ! ?

Recently my AVG had found a trojan with this file name, so it was removed to the AVG vault.
Now Vista is asking for it !

What do I need to do regarding this file please

Many thanks

There shouldn't be a csrss.exe outside of the System32 folder. So whatever it was that AVG found it was correct to get rid. Sounds like there is still a startup entry in the registry trying to load it.

Use either MSConfig, Autoruns or even CCleaner to list all startup entries and delete any pointing to any csrss file in your profile.

I have checked MSCONFIG and there are no programes starting up outside system32.
I have also run CCleaner.
So I need to find the program that is trying to locate the file in my User folder.
There is a programe conhost.exe that is trying to access User/User name/ AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/conhost.exe ! !
