OK, I took it upon myself to design a new website for my university football team, as the previous site was nothing short of atrocious. I encountered a major problem quite early on though, being that i knew nothing about HTML and/or CSS coding. I got hold of a copy of dreamweaver CS3 and drafted in a similarly educated mate to help and this is the first attempt we came up with.
I don't think it's bad for a first go, but a few problems arose fairly quickly. Apparently tables aren't the best things to build an entire site on, as we did, and also, the sponsors links down the right of every page are an absolute nightmare to update, as it has to be updated on every page. I'm pretty sure there will be a way round this, but I can't find it. I know frames can help this but is this the only way? as i like the page being centered and the size it is now, and frames have proved to mess this up a bit. I'd also like a menu down the left, but this was proving to be allot harder than it seemed it should be to keep it in one place.
Any help would be much appreciated, or if anyone has any code they think I could use as a base I'd quite happily link your site.
p.s - please ignore the absolute horrible job of updating our 'web editor' has done. I'm contemplating taking that job off him!!
