CSS is changing when i exit inspector.

Hi all.

Am i being thick here? I am making changes in my site and getting everything nice and aligned, making changes etc, re-uploading and everything is looking fine. Although when i close inspector the layout changes and its driving me crazy.

I have made a login widget. This moves up when i close inspector.
Website name in footer and logo moves to the center and not floating left.

Is the inspector affecting the page width/height and changing the available space, or enabling any media queries you have?

Without seeing an example we can't really help.

What is inspector? Chrome's element inspector? A browser extension? Can you supply a link to your page?

It sounds like you've got some positioning going on that's dependant on the viewport height.

If you're using the "inspector" in chrome/firefox/IE try detaching from being docked to the browser window before making your changes. If the page STILL moves around when you close the inspector then there's something super strange going on and I'd possibly try another browser from what you're using currently.

You could also try to replicating the movement by shortening and enlarging the browser window manually to test if it moves around.

As others have said though, without an example your post is a little hard to follow!
