CSS Low fps.

Hello everyone.

I've just gone and bought a 7600GT. Came to try CSS and I'm getting 30FPS in game... Every setting on low.

I'm going to try a different game right now...

I can't see that anything is forced in the Nvidia panel...

Any suggestions?

BTW My CPU is intel pentium 4 - 3.00GHz

1Gb ram

Yeah I have all latest drivers.

Could it be my CPU not good enough? I hope I can get a refund from Oc, I don't wanna wasted £130 of meh xmas money!

Hello guys.

Just been down to the OcUK shop to get it rma'd or what ever it's called. (Because I thought it was my CPU not good enough and I was going to get a refund.)

One of the helpful lads there said that I need to upgrade my PSU.... It's a £70 PSU but apparently it's worth it.... Gonna get it in a few days.

Hey guys.

I do believe that it's now my PSU... I think I have a really cheap/bad 500W psu.

When I went into the OcUK store I was told that my PSU sucked and I needed to get a new one (Which I believe of course!) Here is the PSU the people in OcUK recommended me. : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-TG

But that was £70 and tbh I don't really want to spend £70 on a PSU, it's a bit out of budget for me.

Do you think the £30 PSU will be ok?

I can't see it running fine mate. I was getting the same 3DMARK03 scores as my 6600GT!

I ran it at a 1024 X 768 resolution... Everything on low... And please don't say that's correct otherwise I'll have to murder you

If you can try a higher resolution it should it could also show if the CPU is bottlenecking as the lower the resolution the more CPU dependant it becomes

On a side note your 7600GT consumes the same amount of power that a 6600GT does

Well, when I had my 7600GT in yesterday and played css, the fps rates stayed the same on low and high settings. :confused:

It also does this with my current 6600GT!

Ok I've just done the CSS stress test. All settings on low BTW.... It came back and said that my average frame rates were 90.2 !! :eek:

I wish they were as high as that when I'm playing the game it's self !

As for my CPU it's a Prescott.

This is scary.... On all high settings I'm getting 90FPS average in the CSS video stress test.... The resolution is @ 1024 X 768 BTW.

What the hell is going on.

But it's weird that the FPS is staying the same between low and high... Like on low you'd expect the FPS to go higher, and on high settings you'd expect it to go lower....

This also happens on WoW aswell where the FPS will stay the same on low and high....

So do you guys think it's my CPU thats bottleknecked... I wouldn't have thought a 6600GT would bottlekneck with a P4. ??

I hope to god I can put my 7600GT to some use.

That will limit your fps to the refresh rate of the screen iirc.

Vsync is off....

SAME experiences here!!! I think that's our prob!

I wish we could fix it... I'm getting my 7600GT in tommorow along with a new PSU... I hope the PSU sorts out the problem... If not I'm screwed.

Something is wrong on your setup for sure!

As said in another thread... Maybe I need to turn everything up on the 7600GT and force some settings...

Ok guys got my new PSU etc etc....

CSS is still running like a bag of ****.

I just ran 3dmark03 and I got 11688 3Dmarks.... Does this sound about right?

Hello guys.

I think I have my problem sorted now !

I formatted... Re-installed everything blah blah and now in TM nations I can play with settings medium - high... 4X Max filtering 1280 x 1024 resolution and my fps goes 30 - 90 with an average of about 50 !

I'm well chuffed !

Installing WoW again now.
