CSS padding

In terms of Firefox vs IE how do you guys generally get round the difference in which they interpret padding.

I have tried it many difference ways, is there a 'best' way to do it or a most useful way?

in honesty i was talking about both maybe should have been a bit clearer. it is saturday morning. What is the most common way people solve the box model padding issue?
