CSS? preview window of webpage template

Hi,

I want to re-create a feature shown in Microsofts CSS Zen Garden style webpage, shown here:

They never realsed the css for this unforunately.

What I want to do is have little preview windows like they have there to show off various webpage style templates, and allow the user to hover over them to view a larger zoomed in version, if you get me?

I don't know how to go about this at all..I'm assuming theyre not using images or anything like that.

Could anyone tell me how they did this, or point me in the right direction of what to research?

I'd greatly appreciate it.

just shows a snapshot of an existing website on mouseover

I'm doing my college project at the moment so it all needs to be self contained unfortunately
