css rollover image swap

I have 10 navigation images (horizontal) and when I hover on them I want the image to change. Can this be done with CSS? I think it can be done but I cant find a webpage explaining how. They all involve changing the background image position.

* Note *
I dont want just the background image to change because the text on the image is not a standard font.
