When opening task manager it opens for 2 seconds then minimzes to the taskbar next to the clock and i cannot bring it back up happens everytime i open it now any idea?

Options > untick 'hide when minimised'

I had this when i picked up w32/spybot

See if you got a file in windows/system32 called winupdater.exe

Download HiJackThis from one these locations and save it to your desktop:

Many people get confused on where to place the tool. I have seen many users not knowing and placing the tool in the TEMP folder. This is not a good place to place it.
When HijackThis gets used to fix some entries. It automaticlly creates a back-up so we can reverse the fix, if needed.

If this tool was placed in the TEMP folder. Them back-ups will simply be lost.

Create a folder for Hijackthis on the C: drive called C:\HJT, do NOT run it from your Desktop or Temporary files folder.

For example:

C:\HJT\ or C:\Hijackthis\

You can do this by going to My Computer then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.

Extract HijackThis.exe (that is saved in your desktop) from the zip archive into that folder you created.

Option 2 - How to create a HJT log

One really easy step here.

1. Open up HijackThis.
2. Click ok to the warning that may appear.
3. Once it is up an running, click on Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open up notepad once scanned.
4. Click on Save As, of the notepad with the log in and save it to your prefered location.
5. Open the notepad with the log in and click on Edit>Select All. Then Edit>Copy and post your log here.
