*bugger it I spelt the subject wrong!

Does anyone know a good resource for calculating custom costs? I want to buy a 21" wacom cintiq off the bay and have it shipped to Denmark but when calculating the actual cost including shipping and the inevitable customs charges im lost and dont know if i'll actually save?

Buying one in the UK or here in DK is gonna cost around the £1900 mark but they are listed for $1999 + shipping on the bay.

Cheers,
Matt.

I have a parcel waiting in customs at the moment, Its only around 150 bucks worth, if I have to pay customs on it I'll let you know how much it is :P (I assume i will since its been there for three days)

Depends if your importing it here or Denmark, I can't quite make out from your post. I work in the customs clearance department of a well known courier company, if its coming to the uk I could work it out roughly for you.

Assuming its a new item coming to the uk and its not an original work of art then... £12 VAT is all.

Thanks. It would be a big box so I would prefer shipping directly to Denmark (my home) but I'm a Brit & still have a uk address & bank etc so that's also an option as I travel home fairly frequently.

If its going to denmark i'm afraid I can't help on the account that I know nothing about danish customs. If its coming to the UK then you will pay just VAT since computer/computer related items are duty free... which is nice. Hope that helps.

I had a £200 parcel delivered last week from the US. Got stung with customs charges.

You also have to pay royal mail an £8 or £12 administration cost on top of the customs charge.
