Cube case large enough?

Obviously there's a size difference between Mini and Micro cases, but what restrictions or problems do they pose? Do I need to get a "small" power supply, smaller motherboard, etc. or is the restricted space basically limiting things like drive bays only?

I've got a Radeon 7990 which is quite a big old card (at least I think I have - spilt wine on PC last weekend so won't know if it's dead until I get the new MB and CPU). I like the look of the mini cube cases compared to the standard tower case I've got at the moment but not sure if stuff will fit.

Depends what you mean by cube.

Some cube cases are E-ATX, some are ATX, some are mATX and some are mITX and smaller. mATX and above will accomodate standard components but you'll need to check GPU length restriction and in some cases, PSU length. Proper mITX cases need specific SFX PSUs and are generally restricted in the length/width of GPU.

OK. I was looking at the ISK 600 (Antec) cubes. IDK if I can fit 2xRaid 0 IDE drives in there with this (inc heat sink) + the Radeon. Seems to be room for 2 or 3 SSDs though.

That case is mATX, so that motherboard will not fit. It'll accommodate your drives and a GPU up to 12.5", so you'll be best off measuring it first. Takes a standard ATX PSU too. It's quite tall, so you can use a heatsink up to 174mm in height.

Is your RAID using IDE drives? If so that'll be an issue. Motherboards now support SATA only generally.
