Cube (or small case) case for an ATX board

I hate it when I have supposedly bright ideas and then find major flaws.

Due to an office rearrangement, I am in a situation where my current case is simply too big. I need it to fit under an Ikea Fredde desk (46cm H x 25cm W x 46cm D) or next to it on a cabinet (40cm H x unlimited cm W x 40cm D)

The only cases I am finding close are the:

Corsair 540 Air (which would have to go on the cabinet, possibly on its side)
Thetis Aluminium ATX Cube (which could go anywhere but very limited reviews)
CoolerMaster Black HAF XB Evo Cube (but very wide!)

Currently inside it is running a 3570k (not overclocked) with a H100i and a 1080 card. Eventually the CPU/MB will be upgraded 8700k but still not considering overclocking for a while.

Can anyone offer thoughts on these cases or others I may have missed? Thanks!

Thetis Aluminium Is the Best Smallest Case that can take a Full ATX Motherboard, I Have one & Highly Recommend
Can fit tall Cpu Coolers up to 170mm, Can Fit Long GPUs.
Can mount a 240mm RAD at top
If you have a long GPU like 280/300mm Long or more, Then SFX or 140/150mm PSU will be needed.

How about a wall mounted case like the Lian-Li PC-O7SX?

Have you looked at any ATX HTPC cases? That depth requirement might be achievable with something from Silverstone.

Might be easier to get an M-ATX board - opens the door to a bigger choice of cases!

Thetis case Dimension (D/W/H): 360*210*366mm Smallest Also got 3mm Full both side Temper Glass, fit any size CPU cooler & Graphics card
Cooltek W2 (D/W/H) 395x278x385mm
PC-O7SX ATX (W)484mm, (H)515mm, (D)148mm £399

I purchased the Thetis being smallest case & can take full ATX motherboard & can Fit on my Bench Nice,
takes long GPUs & CPU Cooler up to 170mm
& With great full 3mm Tempered glass both sides, Silent, Good Rubber Feet, No Vibration, £86.99

Only Room for 240mm RAD under the top Panel, Maybe a Single 120mm Rad on Rear.

GPU longer than 280mm Will need a PSU up to 150mm high.

You could take one of the shelf's out of the Fredde to let you put your case on the floor, I did that when I built it up as no way was a Caselabs going to fit on the tiny shelf.

Nice info there thanks. My PSU is a Corair TX650, so 150 x 150 x 86 - so should in theory fit?
GPU is 270 long, plus cables, so a close fit but should be ok too.
It might just all fit.

This is simply to rehouse an existing build - my next one early 2019 will be a full upgrade of everything!

So in theory, the H100i goes on the top... but then its just what other additional fns are needed to keep it cool enough. Or do I just sacrifice the H100 and go for an air cooler to keep air moving inside the case?

This is my backup plan! Found the possibility yesterday, just as long as it doesn't affect stability of the desk (and I don't think it should).

Just a few possibilities! Thank you all for the help!

Any further comments on how noisy/quiet the Thetis is from those that own it? Is the non-windowed version quieter than the windowed version?
Oh, and how many SSD's / HDDs can I fit in there? Ideally I would need 1 HDD and 4 SSD's.

I've had the shelf out of mine since I built it 3 years ago and not had any problems with stability.

Looseconnon, Your 150mm PSU be Fine & 270MM Long GPU
My GPU is almost 300mm & only just overhead the PSU :)
I had my Silverstone 850watt 150mm with 300mm GPU all fine

Here is a youtube

Noise Depends on the fans you fit & what you use to control the speed, I use the Asus motherboard Fan Xpert 4 software to set to dead silent or what I want.

Cougar 2 x 120mm fans at top & a Coolermaster BC 120mm Blue Led Bottom rear I got
Graphics card Fans Are 0db don't spin tell heavy load in gaming & then still dead silent
PSU don't spin 0db Tell Gaming also

Case got Very Good Rubber Feet to stop vibrations,

My In-Win 101 Case Vibrates if I put the Mechanical 5400rpm HDD 2.5" drive on back
of the motherboard tray, Don't with the Thetis due to good round rubber tray mounts on the back

Will be going with replacing my 2 H100i fans with Corsair ML120, and mounting at the top (Fans set to in).
Replace the rear case fan with another ML120 (Fans set to out).
Graphic card should be fine with the cpu fans blowing on to it.

So think it should all be ok.

Why did you change case if yours was fine if you don't mind me asking...

Changed for the Thetis being the Main side window & rear of the case in Reverse of the 101 & case is smaller to fit on the bench, Still going to USE my IN-Win101 on the other side of my bench.

Ahh the Silverstone Grandia GD09, I owned 2 of them around 3 years ago from OCUK,
http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=488
Good Desktop Case, PLenty of Airflow & can stand your monitor on top or Modem
place in a cabinet maybe:)

ordered on 24 Jun 2014 17:52:00 £49.99

CPU Cooler height Limit 138mm
if you not bothered about showing off hardware inside of the case then maybe a case to go for.

GD09 Case volume: 26.80 litres
Thetis Case volume: 27.67 litres

GD09 a little smaller than the Thetis

Thetis plans aborted. Forgot I had a pci card which would mean no space between the graphics card and the H100i.

New case bought though, Fractal Design Define C...

Nearly went for the TG version, but at an extra £18 and potentially noisier, I just went for the original. Looking forward to building next weekend!

Loosecannon, Yep you have done well, I am getting the
DEFINE R6 MIDI TOWER CASE White version with Full window, when rel.
