I think this is going to be my next case - the main compartment can sit on the floor and the ODD box on my desk, and I think the front fan mounts are perfectly spaced for a 480mm rad.

Does anyone know how the odd/hdd modules are connected to the main mobo module? Is it via USB (converting them into external drives) or via long sata extensions? It would be great to have a fan controller sitting on your desk, but obv this wouldn't work if everything is done via usb.

How would you power you HDs if its that far away from the main compartment with the psu?

You can get SATA extensions as long as 2m, and sata power even longer, but its unlikely that cubitek would offer a solution like that.

I wish there was a range off pics showing different setups with these cases....i dont want any more wires running behind my case...but the case does look immense!

I think the idea of breaking the chassis into sections is a good one (Lian Li did it with their X series cases but divided a single case into 2-3 sealed-off areas), but it feels like it's not quite there.

From reading it looks like it's supplied with long power and fan cables (no mention of SATA ones), so you can place the modules in different locations. Sounds kinda untidy.

Sounds awful. A good idea ruined by cheap implementation. :(

A single moulded cable carrying power and up to 4 lanes of SATA would have been ideal. External plug on each "node", with a small distribution panel inside each box, and voilà, nice and neat.

^Yeah, the concept is good, but if there's more than one cable connecting each module it'll get messy.
I'm wondering if they'll attempt a modular matx case - would certainly be interesting.

I guess you could tidy things up a bit externally by sleeving. The pictures show a couple of arrangements but they're all basically side-to-side or stacked, rather than the modules being spread over your desk, which might be of interest to people, especially those whose desk space and under-desk space are limited like moi.

I am surprised nobody thought of this before looks like they messed up the cabling though ?

I just like the idea of putting my ODD compartment on my desk, hiding the rest away, and tricking console gamers and mac owners into believing that my 'mini PC' can play pretty much every game at max settings!

I was expecting it to come with some kind of solution for cabling. Such as a conduit with built in cables for SATA etc.

Here we go, finally found the answer to original Q:
The case basically has some discreet cut-outs in the bottom and tops of the panels, allowing you to route the cables through.

The case comes with quite a nice bundle, with lots of black flat-cable extensions for fans, SATA, etc.

I think the case would work better if they sold each module separately, so you could mix and match.

For instance I would only be interested in the main compartment - easily enough space to mount a couple of hard drives and a slim optical drive (cut the side/front panel for access).

The only way to do that at the moment is to buy a set and sell off the optical/hard drive modules...

Agreed, I would love to get the optical drive modules but definitely not going to buy the whole thing for just that!
